Crazy Weather
Experiencing an earthquake and a hurricane in less than a week is very stressful! Luckily, we made it through both with minimal damage. Hopefully, all the crazy weather we had this summer means we'll have a mild winter. -
Cupcakes!
My brother's birthday is tomorrow so I decided to bake him some cupcakes. He loves to shoot pool so when I saw pool ball cupcakes in Hello, Cupcake! I knew they'd be the perfect thing to make. A few of them turned out a bit wonky and the black icing oozed a bit on some of the numbers but overall I'm happy. I hope he likes them.

Two days until Christmas and I'm almost ready! My gift buying is done and I finished the last present I had to make last night. I'll post photos of the gifts I made after they've been given. I'm skipping decorations at home since I'm going out of town. I've already decided I'm staying home for the holidays next year so I'll do it up big then. ( Read more... ) -

Reading Progress
Each year I set a goal to read more than 100 books. I starting doing this in 2006 when I realized I couldn't remember whether or not I had read a certain book. I decided to start keeping a list of what I'd read and to motivate myself to keep it up-to-date I set a goal that I wanted to read more than 100 books that year. Finished Crochet Projects
I've been crocheting a lot lately because I'm making myself finish all the projects I started last year before I start something new. I have eleven projects, big and small, in progress although only two have a deadline attached. I hope everyone had a Happy New Year! Mine was pretty low-key which is just how I like it. I haven't made any resolutions yet but I'm sure I'll have a huge list before too long.
