I need a break from my life. Juannie's ready for one, too. That means it's time to plan a vacation!

Some possible destinations: Great Smoky Mountains, Canada, Cruise to Mexico and Belize, Seattle.

travel, juannie, me

Whereabouts in Canada are youse guys considering? It's a big place, yanno. ;p

My recommendations? Well, I'm glad you asked. I'd say probably Toronto or Montreal. I've only spent a hour in Montreal (changing trains) and I'd love to go back.

If you go to Toronto, you need to see Honest Ed's and Kensington Market. They have a great art gallery and museum and Chinatown.

Winnipeg, of course, is a consideration. Saskatoon, Calgary. I want a little wildness. Juannie may have some other cities in mind, though.

Of course, Winnipeg - who *wouldn't* want to smell all the porch pumpkins? Alas, there isn't actually much in the way of wilderness - unless you consider a whole lotta flat farm land to be wild. Of course, Northern Manitoba is a whole 'nother story - it's hilly and they have white water rafting - I'd love to go to Churchill one day. But it's getting a *mite* cold up there these days.

Your best bet might be Banff, Alberta - it's parkland and beautiful and you would definitely want to see Lake Louise and those beautiful mountains! The good news is that the summer crowds have gone and the skiing crowds haven't yet begun.

Oooh Lake Louise! Good idea. We saw a travel show about great hotels in the Canadian Rockies and they had a few in that area.

My votes: Canada (duh) either Banff or if you want to kick it east coast, PEI. Or Belize. Belize was a possible "adventure honeymoon" destination for us.

Canada? Imagine that! It's on the top of both of our lists.

I'm a little leery of the cruise. I just saw on some news show that cruise ships are a haven for germs. Ewww!

We are in the very early planning stages. So you'll be in on the whole process.

One of the cool things about the cruise to Mexico and Belize is that it leaves from the port of New Orleans. So it's very convenient!
