I just reclaimed my awesomeness!

Mar 09, 2010 22:56

Why I love the internet: recently, upon watching "Chuck vs. the Truth" (I'm going through a bit of a thing lately), I decided to ask the internets for an Awesome montage. And lo, it was at my beck and call! Say it with me now: That is...outstanding! Lock it out.

Speaking of, ( How much did I love Chuck vs. the Beard? )

road trip!, bones, california, yum!, glee, technology today, chuck

woohoo for trip to LA! So you have some time to hang with me??? :D :D :D I srsly have no plans right now... ok wait, I have an afternoon thing on sunday, but other than that, free as a bird!

I feel ya on the money/job front... I'm starting to really stress out, but hoping that brides are going to love me in 2 weeks. I've spent enough money this week that it better work out!

What are you doing Friday afternoon/evening? Want to hang out and grab dinner or something? I have...no idea, like, what you're doing at all right now. Are you freelancing? Where are you living?

Brides, huh? Hmmm.

Friday evening could work... and my sunday plans just got cancelled. I'm in the Valley - Van Nuys specifically, right off the 405.

Right now, I'm hanging out at home every day, pretending like I'm being paid to do a bunch of work. Currently setting up an invitations/stationery business, and trying to find freelance jobs otherwise. I'm failing somewhere between the meeting ppl and convincing them they need me to do work for them. Or maybe it's just the convincing part I suck at.

The brides thing... I'm going to exhibit at a bridal show in 2 weeks, so I'm crossing my fingers that it will pay off, and I'll actually get some orders. Anywho, we can catch up more tomorrow.

You still have the same cell number?

Sounds good. I'm planning to leave here around 9:30 or 10:00, which puts me down there 3:00 or 3:30. My number's the same (is yours?). Yay! I can't wait to see what you're up to!

You were totally right about Chuck. Morgan has needed to find out for a while now, and that was a great way to do it. I'm...kinda over the Chuck/Sarah thing (unless they find a way to switch things up), but to have Morgan say, "Hey, dude. You're my best friend. You love Sarah. And you are an AWESOME spy." Someone needs to believe in Chuck, and Morgan is just the guy to do it.

And thank you! So many people are loving Shaw, and I just want to smack him. Hard.

Oooh. I really, really really am not over the Chuck/Sarah thing. But to this I say: stay tuned. Hee.

Agreed. It would be a total lie to say that Chuck/Sarah isn't what keeps me coming back, but I think that Chuck/Morgan is a really close second in terms of being the heart of the show. They're so consistent about it, you know? (And I don't mean to minimize the importance of Ellie, but Ellie is...limited in how she reacts to Chuck, I guess.)

So many people are loving Shaw

Are they? I loved the way they introduced him, and I don't mind his general presence in the world, but I don't love him, and I certainly don't love him and Sarah together (and, frankly, am not convinced that Sarah's not just keeping an eye on him). Hmmm.

When I cook I get to control the food and leftovers! More vegetables, I say!

Exactly. I'm trying to indoctrinate them with my own love for legumes and curried things, with limited success. (To be fair, they do eat a fair number of things I approve of...but it's been awhile since I haven't been mistress of my own culinary domain. It's an ajustment.)

Maybe tonight or tomorrow...

Sounds good. I'm free until about 5:30 my time today, and probably about the same tomorrow. (Also, will be at the DMV for driver's re-licensing tomorrow! We should compare notes!)

Also, my Comic Con magazine came in the mail yesterday! Who knew a $25 day ticket qualified me for a mag subscription?

Really? I wonder if I get one, too, or if you're just special?

Well, it mostly all comes down to my obsession with the chickpea. I put them in everything, even things that don't call for them.

Favorites include this, this, various bastardized versions of this, etc.

However, I'm also strangely intrigued by white/cannellini beans and will eat practically anything based on them, and have been known to make some pretty bean-y chili. Also, this is really good, either as a salad or with tortilla chips.

Mmmm. Beans.

Ooh, podcasts, that reminds me: Have you checked out the Tobolowsky Files yet? I just got caught up yesterday, which makes me sad. I'll have to listen weekly now, instead of a couple at a time.

Also: garlic sausage? This sounds like something I would not like. And for some reason, feel the need to tell you. Ha.

I've downloaded a few, but haven't listened to them yet--since I don't drive that much right now, I mostly do podcasts while I'm running, and somehow this doesn't seem workout-appropriate. HOWEVER, I'm driving to L.A. on Friday, so I think I'll let them accompany me down I-5.

Heh. To be fair, the recipe originally called for Italian sausage, of which I'm not a huge fan, so I decided to change it. Garlic sausage sounded like the best approximation at the grocery store--though the texture is totally different (this is where we get into my mental categories of "smooth sausage," which I like, and "bumpy sausage," which I don't, and now you think I'm crazy). It was pretty good, but I don't think it was very much like what it was supposed to be.

So I haven't watched the Kevin McHale video (although I totally will, he's one of my favorite characters), but while we're sharing videos, have you seen these? Totally adorable and basically confirms that he's the nicest guy ever. Also, will possibly make you want to come to New York and see him in Wicked, which is...well, an inevitable reaction.

Haaaaa, love it! He is, in fact, handsome. And he talks with his eyebrows. Heh.

You're just trying to lure me with promises of fun New York things, aren't you? FINE.
