Y'know what bothers me ?

Is how the internet / world reacts to Japan.

What happened to Japan was horrible, I saw videos of the water taking everything with them and people having lost everything.

Then I see on my friends page - the manga communities - a lot of people going like "IS XXXX-MANGAKA ALLRIGHT ? IS SHE SAFE?" what the fuck about the other people living there ( Read more... )

wtf: europe, country: japan, country: haiti, wtf: fandom, person: ranting, country: chile, posts: public

That was weird for me, too@manga comms. I mean, I have friends over there, people I personally know, in real life. Sure, I understand that people worry ...

The EU ... Well, think of all the investments and trades they have with Japan. Haiti and Chile don't produce electronics or cars etc.
From a less cynical POV ... I guess, the nuclear power plant makes the situation in Japan more terrifying, more real, since Chernobyl happened only 25 years ago.

If you have like, friends over there, family, just worry in general, that's fine man, I understand D: But if you're only thinking about a mangaka artist what the fuck ???

That's true D: But they make it look like Japan is more important than Chile or Haiti and in those countries the LITTLE people had they even lost it D: Also when you hear about 11 year old girls getting raped in Haiti because there still aren't any houses there then I see red too. Women are getting there raped in their sleep and no one cares !

That worries me too D: Japan really doesn't deserve a third thing hitting them.

sorry for butting in like this, guys

I agree with you about the people who panic at the thought of their mangas and animes being discontinued, and it's awful - people lost everything, as you said, and there will be probably more victims.

I was surprised when I read in your comment about the women being raped, and that's just horrifying. I have no words for that, it's awful. But I think, considering Japan now, that the danger of radiation concerns the UN more than some other disasters did - if the nuclear plants continue to crush down there's a possibility that the radiation will spread through water, sea and through the air by the winds. People don't want another Chernobyl... even now, the amount of radiation coming from the destroyed plants during one hour equals the amount a human's body should absorb in a year... it doesn't seem good... and I think the UN wants to prevent further catastrophes...

YEAH DX And then they go like "omg I know it must sound horrible and I care about others too [lol orly ?] but I just wanna know if she's safe ;____;" so far I haven't commented anything but seriously, those mangakas probably live in Japan and felt the earthquake but I don't think they lived anywhere near Sendai or anything ( ... )

Like the mangaka of One Piece is the only person living there >____>

ARGH I KNOW DX You're completely right when it comes to Haiti and Chile being third world countries and it not mattering .. maybe a tiny litle but in the end nothing. Even so it breaks my heart D: They could make roads for starters !!!!! They could give them material but in the end it will be just the same ;____;

Well The Netherlands alone had 26 million ready for Haiti and 70% of that money is still stuck in Dutch banks man D: Idk what EU did lol. I'm losing more and more faith in them.

But the world also forgets Japan ? Japan is the master when it comes to earthquakes D: They deal with it every day and how the EU is like "WE'LL DO ANYYYYYYYTHIIIIIING JUST AAAAASK" I'm like, wtf, they're a strong economical country too D:

I knoooooooowwsorry I got it open on my tab page but I just finished making my sales page and my friend keeps dragging me into political debates and I'm like raging with her over America and China XD I'll leave a review asap !!!!!!

The thing that bothers me the most is that a lot of people (Americans mostly) are claiming that Japan deserved what they got and such, and they forget that it's American soldiers that bombed them, twice, and destroyed two cities and millions of people. That's just fucked up, you know? No one deserves these kinds of misfortune, no oneI don't know if it's just you or anything, but I do know that I and people I know have been active in donating such and such to Haiti and Chile and Australia and stuff, so I suppose I've been out of the loop when it comes to people only doing more for one country ( ... )

Argh my friend told me that DX Is this really the time to go like "Uh hey, Japan remember Pearl Harbor" when most people didn't exist during WWII and had nothing to do with it and are kept blank by the government ??? DX And then what about the "tight bonds" I hear from America/news ?? If you got such tight bonds you don't say shit like that and if I would find anyone who'd say shit like that all hell would break lose :'D Most people weren't even THERE when Pearl Harbor was bombed ( ... )

There is still working going on in Haiti (and the Dominican Republic) at least, and will be going on for a while, but the rest of the world has seem to forgotten about it sadly. I actually went to Haiti (And the D.R., but it has far less damage) as a volunteer 5 months ago, and it's mostly people from the US (volunteers, workers) that I've seen and met. (I'm a psychology student at university, so I was allowed to go with others from the medical programs to help out.) Which I can understand, because it's in our hemisphere so it's more of our responsibility, I guess. I'm sure the EU might have cared more if it was on their side of the world ( ... )

Yep, there is, but we just don't hear anything about it anymore/no longer give it any attention :/

WOW really ?? That is so cool that you did that man, major props for that !! And about caring if it was more closer to Europe - well Japan isn't exactly close either y'know D: But as the others above our convo already stated, Japan has a powerful economy/a strong trading partner of European Union and Chile and Haiti... Not.

Actually the few things I did hear about Haiti and the help there was that there were a lot of Americans, a lot more compared to other countries !!

Another thing that annoys the hell out of me is; this country managed to get €26m but half of it is still on Dutch banks as in it's not used for them D:

Ugh I hate people who go like "they deserve it" no one deserves to get in the situations Chile, Haiti and Japan are in now :/

Yeah, it really opened my eyes, working over there. It was an experience that will definitely stay with me, and changed my perspective in life.

And yeah, I agree with you about the strong economy thing. "More benefit helping this person than that person" type of deal, which is sad. D:

That's ridiculous, about the banks. x: Do you know why it's tied up like that?

Yes, personally I think the world would be a much better place without those kind of horrible people in it. :/
