Is how the internet / world reacts to Japan.

What happened to Japan was horrible, I saw videos of the water taking everything with them and people having lost everything.

Then I see on my friends page - the manga communities - a lot of people going like "IS XXXX-MANGAKA ALLRIGHT ? IS SHE SAFE?" what the fuck about the other people living there ( Read more... )

wtf: europe, country: japan, country: haiti, wtf: fandom, person: ranting, country: chile, posts: public

The thing that bothers me the most is that a lot of people (Americans mostly) are claiming that Japan deserved what they got and such, and they forget that it's American soldiers that bombed them, twice, and destroyed two cities and millions of people. That's just fucked up, you know? No one deserves these kinds of misfortune, no one.

I don't know if it's just you or anything, but I do know that I and people I know have been active in donating such and such to Haiti and Chile and Australia and stuff, so I suppose I've been out of the loop when it comes to people only doing more for one country.

Still, I think it all comes down to the fact that Japan realistically does more for the world at a large, producing technology and other important things -- that if Japan were to go downhill, the rest of the world will follow. Just like the recession in America and such, you know? There's a reason why they're called Superpowers :/

And yeah, that nuclear thing... you have have discussed it already, and I agree with all your points!

But well, my aunt and uncle and cousins live in Japan, and I'm understandably more worried for them at the moment than anything else. But they're safe though, which is a relief for me.

Argh my friend told me that DX Is this really the time to go like "Uh hey, Japan remember Pearl Harbor" when most people didn't exist during WWII and had nothing to do with it and are kept blank by the government ??? DX And then what about the "tight bonds" I hear from America/news ?? If you got such tight bonds you don't say shit like that and if I would find anyone who'd say shit like that all hell would break lose :'D Most people weren't even THERE when Pearl Harbor was bombed !!!

Well when it comes to donation ? It might be the same help that Haiti, Chile and Australia get - but when it comes to governments/EU/America helping those countries ? It looks like nill when it comes to Japan D:

Yeah that's probably it when it comes to Japan.. But still, they make it sound like Haiti and Chile weren't such big deals is what pisses me off D: I get that Japans industry is important - and as you said super powers, doesn't that mean Japan doesn't need most help [as in, they can also do it themselves cause they're trained in that, not to say they can accept help it's just.. They'll be more organized and will be a lot sooner re-build than Haiti or Chile >_<]

SEE you have FAMILY living there D: Caring more about them is normal in this situation [more so than others], but when you only care about one mangaka who you don't know and never will know and put her/him above the rest ? It pisses me off !
