It was really cool going through all my grandparents things. We found box after box of old pictures of my grandparents and great-grandparents. It's cool stuff. Mom is making a "family heritage" scrapbook out of them.
My grandpa had a bunch of his stuff from WWII, and we also found this book that belonged to my great-grandpa, who served in WWI. It was the official US pictures, and he had gone through and written notes all over it, about his unit, and where they had been stationed, and what battles he fought in. It gave me goosebumps.

I'd love to stumble on something like that, though, because I always like seeing things like that even when it's other peoples' families, never mind within my own family
