It was the official US pictures, and he had gone through and written notes all over it, about his unit, and where they had been stationed, and what battles he fought in. It gave me goosebumps.

That is all kinds of awesome. I haven't found anything like that yet, but we really haven't looked through anything except the old photos. I'd love to stumble on something like that, though, because I always like seeing things like that even when it's other peoples' families, never mind within my own family.

It's so interesting seeing my parents in the old pictures- there's several of them with baby Dan and Joe, before I was born, and I've forgotten already that Ma used to wear glasses and Dad used to have a full beard instead of just a mustache. And young Dan and Joe look exactly like my twin cousins Michael and Caleb (who will be 3 soon), even though we're not related by blood (Michael and Caleb are my cousin Jeanne's step grandkids). My Uncle Butch called D & J "Boulderheads" when they were little, so Caleb and Michael are the "Jr. Boulderheads". I can still tell Dan and Joe apart even as babies, when they looked more identical.

There's also a few pictures of me as a newborn and infant- I'm so cute, if I do say so myself. ;) One of my favorites is of me as a baby, holding a book in my lap.
