You know what would be awesome? An iPhone/iPod Touch app that would use the camera function on the phone to take pictures of kanji that it would then analyze, allowing it to offer suggestions for identification

How very strange. The post immediately before this one on my friends page is from the LJ linguaphiles community, in reference to a new app for iPhone and iTouch called "iKanji". It's not quite what you're looking for, but the coincidence was both striking and a little freaky.

Hehe... It's not too strange, since it was that same post in the Japanese community that inspired my thought. I briefly debated over whether or not to even make this reply, since the coincidence would have been cooler.
