Can You Picture That?
You know what would be awesome? An iPhone/iPod Touch app that would use the camera function on the phone to take pictures of kanji that it would then analyze, allowing it to offer suggestions for identification.
Yesterday, The Boy and I painted. We'd purchased a few acrylics and two small canvases. It was part experiment, part bonding fun, and part attempt to teach ourselves not to take it too seriously when we are not perfect. The first two went fine - the last, not so much. But we did enjoy ourselves!
Today The Boy and I watched all three Lord of the Rings extended versions. Twelve hours later we know that we still laugh at the never ending ending. He had never watched the extended version of The Return of the King, and is now obsessing over the Mouth of Sauron. This was one of the things on my 101 Things in 1001 Days list; one more thing down makes me happy, even if it was an easy one.
During the making of dinner, all of the outlets on one wall of my kitchen stopped working. I suspect it's just a tripped circuit breaker. I'll call maintenance in the morning (after a speed cleaning of the kitchen).
And now I'm off to bed. It's amazing how tired you can get doing nothing but sitting in front of the TV all day.
