I'm pretty easygoing on the music front. I like lots of things and am willing to passively listen many more. However, right at this moment I am listening to Gilbert O'Sullivan and I may need something irredeemably punk to recover. I'm burning the LP to mp3s at my mother's request. I may also need to mock her for ages over this.
Also? The album cover helpfully informs me that it "Contains the Hit 'Clair'." Okay, this hit? It's a pedophile song. No, really. It's all about this uncle's inappropriate love for his niece. I suppose, if you try hard, you can see the lyrics as sweet and innocent. But this:
You get to me in a way I can't describe
Words mean so little when you look up and smile
I don't care what people say,
To me you're more than a child
Oh! Clair, Clair
And this:
But why in spite of our age difference do I cry
Each time I leave you I feel I could die
Nothing means more to me than hearing you say
I'm going to marry you
Will you marry me Uncle Ray?
Oh! Clair, Clair
They make me feel all ooky and wrong.
epic fail,
moo?
