I just got back from seeing Star Trek. Of all the geekgasms I could have had - and there were many opportunities - what really made me squee was the red shirt on the away mission. In some ways, that's very sad.

We have just finished watching the bastard child of kabuki and cheesy old musicals, which was apparently raised by an amateur theater group. It starred Zhang Ziyi and Odagiri Joe. The Girlfriend is a horror fan. So, when asked to choose a movie for this evening's viewing, she found the closest thing we have on the shelf. Thus, we watched Se7en for Christmas. I am watching The Princess Blade. So far, it's meh. But the title character has the best pout I have ever seen. I have a character with that petulant face, at once pitiful and accusatory. How could you? it says. I adore it.
