Act 5, Scene1
The next week went past quickly without any incident.
Calls were made to Ryan’s Aunt and Uncle to announce his up-coming wedding. They arrived, with Ryan’s cousin Sandi, the next day. Sandi, a petite woman with golden yellow hair, tackled her tall cousin when she arrived, congratulating him on finding the perfect guy for him. Greg and Josie’s families were also notified, very happy for their children and their reconciliation, although Greg’s little sister, Denny, was making bets with her friends on how long the marriage would last.
The amusement park opened to the public and anybody who could go went, including Ryan, Colin, Greg, and Josie. All four of them pondered about the events that night, wondering if that romantic confusion and the image of a black haired young man lurking in the shadows were real. Their confusion was doubled when they saw a young performer at the amusement park that resembled the mystery man they thought they saw.
Wayne and Caroline together began to train Garfield on how to become a Carnie like “Momma Caroline” and “Papa Wayne.” Wayne kept looking a bit worried when Garfield took interest in Jeff’s hobbies of potion making and causing mischief.
Eric finally started to warm up to Ryan, but still felt a little wary about his only son marrying a man. After reassurance from Tony, he finally started to realize that Colin was making the right choice and Ryan would really make Colin happy. Of course, when the subject of grandchildren came up, both Eric and Ryan fainted dead away. They were revived several minutes later thanks to smelling salts.
Tony and Hippolyta still wondered about Josie’s sudden change in attitude over Greg and the stories the two of them and Ryan and Colin told them about that night. They figured it was the weirdness of the fair ground messing with their heads that night plus the stress they were under that caused the weird things that happened.
Finally, the day of the triple wedding came. The ceremony went underway and Hippolyta, Josie and Colin were married to Tony, Greg and Ryan respectively. Everyone there was happy for the three couples, especially Eric, who finally accepted Ryan as a son. Ryan’s father didn’t come to the wedding, as expected, but his mother arrived the morning of the wedding and told her son she was proud of him.
Then came the reception at the mansion. Brad, Chip, Paul, Steve, Mike and Richard were as nervous as long tailed cats in a room full of rocking chairs. And that was before they even got the mansion. Once they got onto the mock stage to perform, they were calm. They had done this before, and after spending most of the week to practice and to go over their act, they were ready.
Of course they had some problems in the performance, from Richard accidentally hitting a button on his keyboard to make the song Chip, Mike and Brad were improvising from Disco to a hi-speed polka to Paul tripping over his feet during a game of World’s Worst to Steve’s pants splitting in the crotch area during a very active game of Film, TV, and Theatre styles.
What did go right was the audience cracking up during the games, everyone keeping cool during the flubs, and no one was injured, insulted or embarrassed greatly during the performance. They were a hit, which made them all proud. Even Hippolyta gave them praises for their performance, kissing the men on the cheek.
What no one knew was that Wayne, Caroline and Jeff were watching the whole scene from the window, smiling at each other.
“I think we did well, Wayne.” Jeff remarked.
“Sure did, Jeff my man. Sure did.” Wayne nodded.
“We should leave soon, love. It is very late.” Caroline told Wayne, linking her arm with his.
“Yes, we should. Can’t have our friends worry too much about us, right?” Wayne agreed. The two lovers left, leaving Jeff alone to watch the happily married couples leave for the airport to go on their honeymoon.
Jeff just smiled and left, following Wayne and Caroline, who was holding a sleeping Garfield in her arms, down the road to the Amusement Park…
And vanished into the sunset, their jobs finished for now until they were needed again.

Thank you everyone for reading this story.
