The wandering data returns!
Yes, my laptop, external hard drive and all my precious data it's all finally back home. Anthony, the guy who was fixing everything, brought it back last night around 8:30. He stayed long enough to help me get my screen reader, JAWS, installed, or at least started. Interestingly, jaws installed much faster than it does normally, and it still ( Read more... ) -

Ok, well, no, my data isn't here yet. Anthony, the tech service guy, didn't call till well after four this afternoon. he was on a job at the time, but promised to be by "soon". Yay. My data will bew home this afternoon! Just a few more hours to go. and how soon will my dear laptop be up and running again? Tired of this vista machine and office 2007, but learning how to work around it. it's just that I miss my own computer, I guess. Ok, so, to tell the story backward, Anthony, the tech saervice guy, called at four this afternoon. He told me he was able to get all my data off my hard drive! Squeeeeeee. Woo hoo! A brief update on the computer thing. i'm gradually getting the better of this damn Vista machine and learning outlook 2007. Fortunately, it's so much like previous versions of outlook that except for a couple things, it's working very well for me. i've been told word 2007 is not so nice, but hopefully, just doing my writing in word won't be a ( Read more... ) -
computer crash
Last Thursday morning I woke to find my laptop had crashed or something in the night. Of course, bneing blind and with the screen reader not working, I don't know if there was any error or message on the screen. i shut it off and tried to reboot. alas, though the power came on the system did not boot up ( Read more... ) -
