Drives me bonkers when I spend time writing fic, post it to a comm, and then no one reads/comments. :( I mean, I'm not one of those SUPER AWESOME fic authors, but I'm not bad, either, and I would love the concrit. Or, you know, squealing delight. Some sort of feedback to let me know if I'm even on the mark with what I'm writing.

*sigh* Send a sister some love, you know what I'm sayin'? Especially in the Sherlock fandom, where getting the voice right is so damned hard.

No comments doesn't necessarily equate to no readers. One of the reasons I like posting to AO3 is that you can see "Hits" - which of course doesn't mean everyone who found the thing read it, but they were at least interested enough to click on it. But on lj it's like posting into a void sometimes. Readers are there, but invisible.

Yes. Yes, I suppose that's the feeling. Posting to the void.

I guess it would behoove me to put something in my A/N saying FEEDBACK IS DESPERATELY CRAVED. ^.^;;; Or something like that. *sigh*

NAYRT - Hmm. The word "desperate" can be a bit off-putting. Something along the lines of "Feedback is love, and concrit is welcome" would probably get you the farthest ...

I spend v. little time on the meme b/c it's overwhelming and I have a job. When I do stumble across a fic I like, I do make a point of commenting! So I wish you luck, and hope I find one of yours :)

Potentially Spoilery talk about Season 2 anonymous October 12 2011, 16:00:39 UTC
OK, I like Sarah. I think she's actually an alright character. And she's supposed to still be around in Season 2. But even though I like her I can't get invested in her at all, AT ALL, because I just keep thinking "Where the fuck is Mary? Where is MARY ( ... )

I don't think there will be S3 actually. This could be just a rumor but I've heard that BC said that this will be last season of the show. So if this is the case, there will be no Mary at all. I guess. Which is sad.

Not saying you're lying, but... how can they say there will be no s3 before s2 has even aired? *is genuinely curious (andmore than a bit worried because two series of this beautiful show are just not enough :(*

It could be that he doesn't want to play Sherlock after this season. For whatever reason. Busy schedule, or for other big screen roles, or whatever. I don't know.

Apparently I'm fucking invisible today. Wish there was a way I could check that I haven't actually died. Although I guess ghosts can't use the internet.

Lamenting Lack of a Life anonymous October 12 2011, 16:42:48 UTC
My design module this year is called 'Ministry of the Unseen' (Oh my giddy aunt think I, a building for Mycroft!) but its so difficult to fit the design work in when I have DigitalCultures, Technology&Precedent and CitiesCulture&Society modules all asking for coursework at the same time, let alone write, be active in the fandom or actually have any kind of relationship in RL.

TL;DR - lonely student swamped, fandom life suffering, nonexistent first (boy/girl)friend still nonexistent.

Mycroft: "production aryuil". Yes Mycroft, I must be ill if I think I can do all that...

I really, really want a dog, but it's so expensive!!! I've looked everywhere, but there's not a single person in this town with dogs for less than 500€! Pleaaaaase someone give me a dog for a little less! I just want to love him and hug him and call him George ;____;

If you can't afford the dog in the first place, how are you going to afford its vet treatment? Like all the shots it'll need, neutering, and anything that might crop up?

Hey, she might be like me. I got a dog when I was damn poor, but managed to scrape up $300 for the first year of vetting/neutering. Now, if I'd spent that $300 on a puppy, I wouldn't have had the money anymore. I managed to find a "previously owned" young fellow for free, and then I still had the cash to fix him up (which is good -- he had worms and an intractable ear infection -- I used every penny of that $300 the first year). After that I was able to scrape together a similar sum every year, and luckily, as he grew older and needed more expensive treatment, my financial situation improved.

TLDR; doggies aren't just for rich people, and rescues rock. OP, go to your local shelter and see who needs love! Secondhand dogs can be great.

I can actually pay those 500€, but it's still be a big expense for me. I'd be much happier spending those 500 at the vet than to buy the dog.
I would prefer a 'secondhand' dog to a puppy, but apparently they don't exist around where I live... And the local shelter is only for cats ):
