After the 007 Plane Thing fails, Mycroft is in Very Big Trouble with his superiors (his "Masters" as Irene says). When he gets dumped on Sherlock's doorstep, bloodied and broken, Sherlock finally understands the seriousness of his accidental security breach.

Oh dear - that was heartbreaking. On one hand - it's good to see Sherlock care so much (even if it was really sad to see him so lost whilst John was treating Mycroft). Again, I'm glad he is taking this so seriously rather than just brushing it off.
And Mycroft ;_; He's so hurt and just a little bit vulnerable and... I really hope he and Sherlock make the bastards behind all of this pay (or at the very least, make them stop.)
And what's Jim playing at anyway? I don't know, but I trust him just about as far as I can throw him >:(
Anyway - as you may have gathered, still loving this and my sincerest apologies for taking so long to review (Damn RL) I wasn't waiting for a bus this time but if I were, I dare say I would have missed it, so congratulations on a brilliant update and I can't wait for more :D

thank you so much for this comment! And so sorry it's been so long ;_; I've been been staying somewhere & not able to get on lj for a while
Sherlock is indeed wanting to make some bastards pay, if only Mycroft'll let him... I'm glad you like vulnerable!Mycroft. Gatiss always seems slightly vulnerable, to me, when he's trying to communicate with Sherlock
anyway, more up, and the last part coming v.v.soon

Just caught this today. I love the way you've woven in the pirate back story and the tension and suspense you've built. Adding this to my bookmarks in the hopes of seeing more.

so I, um, disappeared for what seems like forever, and I'm so so sorry! I had it mostly finished, I was just staying with some relatives and terrified to use their computer for fandom, heheh. So if everyone has given up on this, I totally understand. But in case not, I'll just post the rest :PMycroft is an easy patient for a given value of easy; which is to say, when compared to Sherlock. John figures the Holmes' get their own scale. He does what he's told, for the most part, though John can't shake the feeling that the moment he told Mycroft to do something he didn't deem necessary, he would be ignored with such perfectly weaponised politeness that he'd end up feeling like he was the one who owed someone an apology

John stares at his laptop screen. Blank whiteness stares accusingly back. It's not like he doesn't do this on a regular basis, it's just - it's just not usually on such a tight schedule, as the small flickering video stream in the top corner of his screen reminds him, and more importantly he usually doesn't have to make anything up. John's fairly secure in the conviction that he's no writer. He doesn't writeanything, he just puts down what happened in, well, words. It's completely different

"I can try, certainly." A little too eager, John thinks. Do you want this over with, or are you curious? "What do you-" Harry leaves the question open

And well worth the wait. That little introspection of Sherlock's at the end was perfection and a long time coming. *pats both Holmes bros on the head*
