Thorn my German Shepherd bitch has ruptured her cruciate ligament. Investigations have been done and the advice is that Thorn should have a Tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA) as David (the super orthopaedic vet) has had great success with this, it is less invasive than a TPLO, better for big active dogs, weight bearing can happen immediately, it ( Read more... )

Well the antibiotics didn't help Penny at all, so we just need to try and keep her exercise as much on the flat as possible. The building of shallower steps down to the garden has moved to top priority. Penny is home, she still has a distinct head-tilt and is also still wobbly, but she is managing to get up to drink and go out to the loo. She is keeping close, or keeping a close eye on me. We haven't fed her yet, so I don't know if she'll be her normal noisy self, but I think not, I suspect barking will be uncomfortable for a while yet.

Well following the speedy trip to the vet a couple of weeks ago after Penny ate most of a box of Bendicks Bitter Gingers (yes the 95%cocoa solid ones) we were back last night.
