Some of you may know that my dad's side of the family is from Austria. So I've been wearing dirndls occasionally ever since I was a little girl. ( That's fine, dirndls are cute on little girls. )
I've been sort of laugh-crying about it. Cause it's so incredibly STUPID LOOKING.
If I wear it with jeans, it kinda looks like a man's jacket with puffy sleeves. And I sortof look like a guy in it (my upper body, I mean). Maybe I can be a tacky crossdresser!
The dirndl or the yellow thing? ;) I've honestly thought about bringing it the past two years - maybe I will this year, if I have room in my bags. Although, I'm not quite sure what I'd do with it, it would be fun to have around.
I know. All I can manage is a "... huh" now and again. I should've taken a photo of the back, too. There's a lone cable down the middle of it. It's fantastic.
Well, mine's actually Austrian, not an americanized version of traditional trachten, so. I hate the skanky-looking dirndls, they make me sad.
The colour's actually alright in real-life, although it's not really a good colour for me. And knitted is fine - it's just the pattern that's useless. I mean, puffy sleeves? Seed stitch all over? The three buttons? The tiny pockets? The silly-looking collar? Ick.
