I really don't know where to start...

This was hot. I love your voice and Jim and Bones are spot on. I love snarky and sarcastic foreplay. ;-)

And your emotional imagery...wow. You are a master. Most people say something like "his throat tightened" or "he felt his stomach drop" to show emotions, but you...you take it to a whole new level. I especially like the one part where Jim swallowed a sound/word and then felt it hit each rib on its way down. I mean, it makes no physical sense, but it totally makes sense in an emotional way and makes their encounter that much more powerful.

Awesome writing.

oh wow, i am so thrilled by this comment. i'm glad it worked so well for you! there's definitely a very real risk of making the language too overbearing or just overly written, so it's interesting to try to convey the emotions authentically without drowning them in some horrid purple prose. thank you so much for reading and for the wonderful feedback.

I loved both of these stories so much! They are both such wild rides, veering between so many awesome places - giddy hilarity, bone-deep angst, quiet companionship and the frenetic hyperawareness of Jim Kirk's brain. The emotional connection between Jim and Bones is so palpable, so comfortably intimate, that it's no surprise that everyone thinks they are already lovers.

AUGH, what lovely feedback! i'm so glad it hit all those places for you. that is truly a joy to hear, because one-note symphonies get old pretty fast. and oh man, that last bit. i'm thrilled that it read that way, because that's basically the entire premise, haha. thank you very, very much for reading and commenting.

i've re-read this fic several times now because it's one of my favorite things ever. you've almost single-handedly converted me to this ship. also, i just wanted to comment that one of my favorite parts is jim petting his head apologetically after holding onto his hair too tightly. it's just...so sweet. and it's so small and yet poignant and ugh i just love this, okay? i am sorry for my severe ineloquence, i just have a lot of feelings.

ahh, this is such an amazing comment! i'm thrilled that it worked so well for you. i have a soft spot for the futility of trying to gentle a touch when your body's screaming at you to do the opposite, so i get you! thank you so much for reading and for the wonderful feedback.

This is so good. So much unspoken, so much RIGHT.

thank you! :D actually i'm sort of relieved that you said there was a lot unspoken, because occasionally i felt like i was trying to fit too much meta into this - which wasn't so much my intention going in as just something that happens whenever i start writing about these assholes. they give me Feelings.

eta: OOPS. i misinterpreted that, i think. there's definitely A LOT these two don't say to each other, which ugh - watch me write a goddamn sequel. just watch.
