Oh, happy day! This was just lovely. Both their voices are just perfect. My absolutely favorite part was Jim's realization that Bones is a martyr to others' needs, and then the superb line:
“Whatever you want,” Jim says, almost a murmur. “Do it.”
Unf!! I love the image of the powerful guy who lets someone else take him over. One of the many reasons why m/m slash is so. freaking. hot.

bones, bones, you know i think that stubborn refusal to acknowledge his own needs is paradoxically the most selfish thing about him, which is part of the reason why i loved having jim be like haha no that is not how this is going to go, asshole!

OMG! HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU? I can't believe I've never read anything by you before because JESUS you're so fucking good! *flails* This is so brilliant - so superbly written. IT HAS EVERYTHING; the perfect amount of sensual detail, the NEED, the LOVE, Bone's messy hair, oh god!

He runs a hand through Bones’s hair without thinking. It sticks up ridiculously, making something twinge in his chest, heady and for an instant excruciating.

“I have, you know,” Jim says, hollowed out and bare.

Something in Bones’s eyes shatters, and then slowly, deliberately rearranges itself. All Jim can think, deliriously, is that it makes him look younger and older at the same time. Holf fuck! I can hear their voices, it's so spot on!

It took me ages to read because I had to go back and savour line after line!

He tries desperately to gentle the touch in Bones’s hair, shifts his hand to clutch the back of Bones’s neck, but it always edges toward violence.Honestly, bb, I am going to read EVERYTHING you've ever written! Thank you for writing this

i am a huge lurker! believe me, i was totally on board with this back in '09, but i was always too intimidated to write anything or really get my hands dirty. recently there's been a ~resurgence of sorts, mostly due to the fact that i've had to shepherd a couple of lost souls toward the light that is this pairing, and the entire process has reopened my feels with a vengeance.
