Yer've got yer Nana's hands, various members of the extended family used to say to me when I was a teenager. Yer Nana had luvley hands....

Had being the operative word. Nana's hands, by that point, were twisted and swollen by arthritis. I'm therefore a little paranoid about my hands, partly because I do so much in terms of handicrafts and partly ( Read more... )

That 7800 krona is about 40 pounds, right? Ouch. Yes, I'd go with the pink -- as long as they do the job. :)

I must admit that I've always been horrible with gloves. I always lose one, just one. March in Colorado would be a pain as I'd lose gloves and the shops would be stocking spring clothes despite the two feet of snow out there. The Army/Navy store near work and home that sold decent, not too expensive, gloves year-round literally was a lifesaver.

We can sometimes find very cheap Thinsulate gloves (as in a couple of pounds each) in the street market here on Saturdays. We're off to London this weekend, but I could look next Saturday if you wish.

I should now be okay - particularly as I'm escaping this summer - but thanks for the offer.

Yes, about £40. When I bought the originals they were about £16, which wasn't bad, but this is ridiculous.

I know. Providing you with an excuse to knit could be considered a public service... :)

So the ISK is doing kinda poorly against the US$ (128ISK = 1 US$), but browse some US sites and let us know if anything meets your price/warmness point. Also what your glove size is!

REI is a favourite of ours.

We can pick up in store and send on to you anything you like the look of.

The Celestron NexStar 4SE is rather nice... :) But on a more practical note I'll email you on that. Thanks.

It's not as if they're serious mountaineering gloves, or kid leather for that matter - simply wool-blend mittens with a fake-fur cuff. Although in black, not white.
