I totally agree with the need of new beginnings.
New years are a bit like cleaning in that way, I think. I mean, I know my kitchen will look like a hazard area again in two days, but still I need the moment to enjoy it in it's cleanliness to reward me for cleaning. And in that one moment I can actually believe that one day I will put the dishes away immediately and will not wait for stuff to get dried up an icky before wiping the counter.
I know it will not happen, but that moment of hope is important.
