Best weekend that has ever, ever existed! Camping, Ben, Final Fantasy, farm-land, picnics. Bruce Peninsula is my new favourite. And One Heart Many Hands, and Alight and Water Colour and Huckleberry Friends.

After a weekend off I must make books with all my heart.

Dear All,

I'm home this Friday.  Does everyone want to party with me on Saturday - Global Warming at Starlight?  I want to party so so much.  I am hugely excited about Waterloo!

Right this second I'm in Kotor, Montenegro, heading soon towards Greece.  Kotor is pretty astounding: the city is at the head of the Kotor fjord, the walls of the city begin in the moutains and end at the lake.  I took pictures but 1) it's impossible to show the entire landscape: the hugely dark water and the way the mountains surround everything, ( Read more... )

I am in Dubrovnik, and it is just wondrous.  I am staying with the nicest family, in a room in their house and their daughter Nicolina is trying to teach me Croatian, but then we get fixated on trying to make me say words that are impossible for non-Croatian people to pronounce (according to Nicolina), such as fort, which includes rolling Rs and ( Read more... )

Right this moment I am in Zadar, Croatia.  I am staying at a youth hostel near the bay.  The bus ride here from Slovenia was just hugely, overwhelmingly amazing.  It took 9 hours, and the entire time the road ran between the mountains (the Dinaric Alps) and the Adriatic.  Just immensely wonderful.  When I got to Zadar it was very dark and I was ( Read more... )

Instead of not posting until after Rome, it seems I´m posting now.

Mostly: I found a hiking trail around the outside of Segovia´s walls, completely in the woods though very close to the cliff edge which the castle sits on.  There are two rivers which meet at the end of the cliffs, and caves and ruins and general amazingness.  I´ve hiked the trail ( Read more... )

Firstly, Ávila was wondrous!  Highlights include: walking the city walls, and visiting St Teresa of Ávila´s relic room.  In her relic room were her journals, where she wrote out her life and her visions.  They were from the early 1500´s, and were just completely astounding.  The bindings were still intact!  And her handwriting was ( Read more... )
