Dear Livejournal,
Again, instead of not posting I'm posting.
Right this second I am in a hostel in Rome. I am mostly trying to learn Croatian after buying a book on how to learn Croatian two days ago, but it doesn't seem to be working. Tomorrow morning I am heading to Slovenia, to a town called Piran. In Italian, the name is Pirato, which is kind of like Pirate.
Rome is too big, and filled with amazingness. I met these two strange German boys, and we travelled to St Peter's Basilica, and I went to the Vatican Museums with a girl who was from Mexico. She was Roman Catholic, and it made the whole experience very different. Now I am living with two French girls, and we talk constantly but don't really understand each other. I quite enjoy it.
Rome was astounding for several reasons, one of which was the ruins, as they were more incredible than I had thought they'd be. Just so hugely amazing. Also, just the entire city is so immense and exciting, and there are altars to Mary on street corners. Then there is this park of ruins which serves as a cat sanctuary! It was most likely the greatest thing ever. An enclosed area of ruins with cats and cats. It made me miss Ellie and my mom so much, though. I also went to a Durer exhibit at a gallery which was wonderful, and to a market filled with religious treasures of which I bought so many.
The end,
Love Amy.
P.S. I posted more pictures.
