Inexplicable Obsessions and Tourney Talk

My mother is obsessed with Da Vinci's Inquest. She likes its mellowness. They have yet to start airing Da Vinci's City Hall, which is what I'd like to see. I think we're up to season 7 of Inquest, but I hope they don't make us wait too long for the next series.

Did you hear about Shakira and Wyclef Jean lip-synching "Hips Don't Lie" on American Idol this week?

Actually, she lip-synched only some of the sections; he lip-synched most of his.

I'm so out of the loop with American Idol, but I suppose it's better I missed it, if that's what happened. It's a real shame that she has taken to lip-synching lately, but I suppose she wears herself out with the hip-shaking and doesn't want to sound out of breath when she sings later in the song. She didn't use to lip-synch, though, which is why I miss the olden days. I am surprised about Wyclef. He doesn't have any such excuses. ;)
