Inexplicable Obsessions and Tourney Talk

My mother is obsessed with Da Vinci's Inquest. She likes its mellowness. They have yet to start airing Da Vinci's City Hall, which is what I'd like to see. I think we're up to season 7 of Inquest, but I hope they don't make us wait too long for the next series.

My current obsession is the cheesiest thing on earth. I heard about this musical the Disney Channel had been playing which became wildly popular. The soundtrack of which has now spend many weeks at #1 on the Billboard chart, of all things, only to be bumped off this week by Prince's new album. Of what do I speak? None other than High School Musical. Against my will, I have succumbed to the bubblegum pop. It's so dorky, but I just can't help myself.

FINAL FOUR tomorrow!! I'm rooting for the Bruins, but I'm certainly not betting on them (the foul shooting, oh, the horror!). If you want to know all the big news in sports for the week, you just need to watch one hour of TV. ESPN's Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption will teach you all. Sportswriters trading quips, with wonderful fast talking, it's hilarious and brilliant.

Oklahoma! is on right now, in letterbox. Gordon MacRae has such a lovely voice. Too bad he needed to lay off the sauce (ie., alcohol). He reminds me of my uncle (not the drinking part, but the looks and sense of humor). And who doesn't love Rod Steiger? He'll always be Chief Gillespie to me, though.

Tonight Shakira is going to be on 20/20. So, if I become frustrated with Charlie and cradle-robber on Numb3rs, Shakira will save me. I still prefer Shakira's older material en Español, though.
