What he's asking of you isn't fair, in my opinion. Not at this point. Some time down the road you two might be able to be friends without being romantic, but not right now. If he wants to be friends, then there needs to be some time for you to adjust.

In a way, you're getting the "let's be friends" speech that girls notoriously give to guys, and the general consensus on that is that you have to take some time off first.
