[Ginia's helping herself to a bowl of cereal when there's a meow and a sudden tail tickling her face. Her first inclination is Edna somehow escaped the apartment, but as she pets the cat, she realizes it's a smaller cat and the meows are different. Orenji? Ah, that makes sense, what with his very odd teleporting ways. Gently scooping the cat back ( Read more... )

Yeah. We... we had some things in common, and he was my neighbor. Was because I ended up moving in with friends, but... no. Was.

I'm sorry. It never gets any easier. If there's anything I can do-

[ hang on. it suddenly hits her: ] You're speaking... [ hermione, you haven't been in ron's presence long enough to lose your tact filter, have you? ]

It never does get easier to lose friends, but sometimes distractions can help.

I'm speaking. Malnosso kidnapped me, gave me a voice, but took my eyesight.

[And getting back on topic...]

Thank you, Hermione, I appreciate that. [And thank you for having an easily distinguishable voice too.] At least I have a cat for company. Cute little guy.

[ Helios was just coming out of his room as he heard the door to the apartment open and then close. He wasn't sure if it was Giles or Ginia but hearing the voice filter out from her room gave him a clear indication. He hears her transmission and the actual words being spoken in unison over it. A frown as he makes his way to her door knocking lightly as he waits for a response.

Someone she knew...was sent home. It was always hard especially if you knew the other person well. That was one the increasingly difficult aspects of Luceti and life here. Space, comfort, and friends willing to help healed the wounds caused by departures but he's not sure if they ever fully healed. Still he'll do his best to offer what little consolation he can when these matters presented themsevles. ]

Ginia?

[Ginia sits on her bed, journal at her side, Orenji at her lap, and Odin at her feet. Livio is gone. She silently hopes he's off in a better place and okay, but she also has her doubts. Still, what's done is done.

At the knock at the door, Ginia snaps out of her thoughts, tries to put a smile on.]

Come in, Helios. The door is unlocked.

[ He opens the door gently poking his head inside before fully opening the door somewhat. He looks concerned. ] I-I'm sorry I heard about...Livio.

[ His eyes go to the floor before looking back at her again. His expression is one of inquiry as he looks her over. He'd ask if she's alright but...who ever is in these circumstances? ]

[Ginia offers a weak smile and waves at him to come in. Orenji sits up and meows at him, hopping off Ginia's lap to investigate this new person that is vaguely familiar and will hopefully offer pets.]

Thanks. I... well. I can only hope for the best for him.

[She sighs, hand touching her journal again.]

Seems like we're losing people again. Mikage, Flynn, Rapunzel...

[Giles is apart from Ginia less and less, nowadays. It's even less time than normal when, after hearing her solemn message, that he's returning home from patrol and climbing the steps.

A soft knock on the wall to announce himself.] Hello?

[Departures always seem to have a way of sneaking up on you. Ginia's absently petting Orenji, the journal at her side. She looks up when she hears the knock and greeting, manages a smile.]

Hi, Giles.

Hello.

[He crosses the room...just a little more noisily than he usually does...and gives Orenji a few conciliatory scritches before moving him aside to hug Ginia.]

[Orenji gives a disgruntled meow as he's pushed aside, but goes off to explore the apartment again.

Ginia holds him tightly, nearly squeezing him to her as she tries to gather up her words.]

I didn't... I'm tired of not being able to say goodbye.

Always liked cats.

Not always been a mutual thing, though.

Cats tend to be very finicky creatures. You can never tell if they like you or not.

[Not something Wolfwood expected to hear today. He frowns a bit, wondering if Livio really had anything worth returning to or not. He hoped so. I mean, that's the sad thing about Gunsmoke, or whatever he called his version-most of the time? Anyone who'd come here wouldn't wanna go back.

But he manages to push that all down and speak in a thankful voice,]

... Thanks a lot. I appreciate you telling us; how long has he been gone?

You're welcome. Um... I wouldn't say more than a day, maybe only even hours. I found his cat today, he seems to be okay. Apartment seems fine too.

I see... [Well, whatever fate you go to, he hopes the best for you, Livio. You're a good guy; he owes you one, should he ever get to meet you again.] You two knew each other well?

I... guess so. Neighbors, talked a few times, fought in the draft together, he's a good guy.
