Like the dog from Terminator

In the last 3 or 4 years when she was still living in my house, Mom tried extra to convince me that she is God's special snowflake even though she doesn't believe in God because only the weak and the stupid believes in the irrational.  The "proof" of her special snowflake status is that spirits were trying to talk to her because she's so empathatic ( Read more... )

I just had to giggle, Little One about your observations re: the "Past Lives" of these "Seekers": The purveyors of these Magical Mystical Services know EXACTLY what their "Seekers" are seeking: Validation of their "Specialness" (read "excuses") for being who they are in THIS incarnation ( ... )

Wow I'm so glad I can post comments here again!

I've always wondered that too.about people who claim to remember their past lives That its always grandiose lives they say they had and its this one reason among others why I don't believe in reincarnation

Not to overstep my bounds and my memory is pretty blank right now and I know your relationship with your mom is a lot more complex than this but was your mom diagnosed as being bi -polar? I have a friend who is and one of the symptoms is "having an unrealistic belief in one's abilities." And hers is in how she can relate with people .

Not to make light of your dog incident but I found it fascinating as there are some dogs that look like they truely understand what is going on around them in the human world. Like they can sense when a family member is sad or happy But for that dog to act on it in a negative way maybe feeling it needed to protect his owner or something? That was some expereince for you

Thank you for posting this. Wow! Yes it was hilarious and kind of in a sad way too but also an eye opener on why people with supposed past lives have only grandiose ones. My one little theory was that people were seeing themselves in these grandiose past lives as their own lives were so sad and hopeless they wished to escape it. Or maybe hoped in the next life they would.
But yes a narcissistic personality does answer alot and i do remember accounts of past lives having one person die a horrible death many times over And its the huge collective accounts of being a King or priestess that had me not beleiving them and always left me asking where is the common folk among them.

I'm pretty sure someone in my family married a guy with narcissistic tendencies Isnlt one of the types of behavior displayed never taking responsilbity for anything you do that its always someone else fault and another being quick to anger?

"Folks don't get that what they think are past lives are just archetypes that speak to their unconscious minds, that have meaning for them."

This sentence said so much!
