I loved the beginning of it, say the first 15 minutes. The whole 'don't make me come over there' and the realization that even team science isn't sure what they're doing with the ship quite yet while Rush is the tired teacher. (And also the eyebrows/the quick eyesex with Rush and Young. Sorry. Loved that look ( ... )

I think Young referred to the fact that if both ships have fully recharged their energy reserves and docked together they would have enough power to dial earth. Which is what they tried in Awakening.

That's one thing I really really liked about this episode (other than aliens and space battles) -- the extra comedic bits.

Rush's bridge headaches at the start, "Yeah, yeah, very interesting", the off-ship crew and "What did I -just- tell you?!", and of course, the pie.

If I got the implications from the previous episode all right, then Wray must have some psych training. However, if she does, she goes incredibly clumsy about talking to people with problems. First, each time she would bring up Riley or TJ's baby with Young, Young would simply close up, change the subject. Eli did exactly the same when Wray asked about Ginn--just walked away ( ... )

I hope theres a kinosode of a pie being done............

I didnt realize this was the midseason finale til my mother mentioned it. It didnt feel like that big a deal of a cliffhanger to me.

I guess my problem with the episode was what the characters were complaining about at the beginning. Why are we messing with aliens? well I mean like..everytime we board an alien vessel something bad happens...like losing Lou Diamond Phillips (whom my sister wanted people to know that she met before and said he was extremely nice). Also, maybe we should wait for the simulation to finish first.

what I also dont really care about are long fill-in-the-blank monologues about what happened offscreen. While Telford was telling his story my dad had just walked into the room and has never seen this show before and I was just kind of..embarrassed lol.

I do like having Telford back. Its also kind of fun having Star Trek-esque battle sequences on the bridge.

I also really like Varro. :3

I agree that it was kind of a silly trip: to explore some engergy stuff. Then start the exploration before the simulation finishes and I'm not even sure what they hoped to gain from this exploration. What was strange that usually Young is more cautious than that and it did seem that he had doubts when Scott asked permission to board the alien ship. I am guessing he is a little too eager to cooperate with the scientists ( ... )

"I agree that it was kind of a silly trip: to explore some engergy stuff."

Rush is a scientist first and foremost, with a very curious mind. I think to him it was worth investigating for what knowledge might be gleaned, plus they might have been able to scavenge useful technology, let alone a potential energy source that might enable them to dial Earth.

Curiosity can after all lead to great discoveries, if you don't get killed of course! LOL!

Anyone think they overdid his space walk sequence? He doesn't seem like an ass normally, but he turned into one in a hurry by bossing Greer around -- and he'd be the last person on the ship whose bad side I would want to find.

I actually think it was funny. Brody seemed to have cold feet but I find it rather normal.

I actually took it to be rather playful than rude, but everyone has their interpretations!

They did overdo it, but only because it was long and ultimately didn't get us anywhere. I loved Brody in it, though.

I like the super-shiny refurbished shuttle - it looks really good ( ... )

I get the impression that he has been playing the tutor, although very reluctantly. Sort of the brooding teacher hovering over their shoulders looking very disappointed and tired during a final exam sort of thing. :| I'm sure they've figured out a lot on their own, but he's had longer. And then apparently they also are relying on Chloe a lot more, it seems? I'm not going to say that's a bad idea, but when we have to pull her away every time she touches something to figure out what she did, I don't know, that's pretty inefficient ( ... )

Yeah, I think TJ and Varro will end up together for a bit. But that's just because she can't have Young while they both still believe in non-fraternization rules... In my head, TJ and Young are an item, maybe not physically but certainly mentally. I think they do love and respect each other in their own way, and there's just a lot of history between them which creates a very strong bond of trust and comfort. I like Varro but I'd rather see him with James. Those two fighters would go so well together. On the other hand, I like the idea that TJ's got her own little bitch in the infirmary now: "Varro - go empty the trash. Varro - clean up the mess." ;-)

I completely agree on TJ and Young. I must say Young being Young he would just probably stoically watch the events unfold between TJ and Varro although the hurt would be obvious. NOt to mention this will hardly endear Varro to him.

Agreed. It's another perfect opportunity for Young to beat himself up over something he can't control, and to feel guilty and suffer. He'll be hurt, but he'll think he deserves it because of past transgressions. I'm seeing lots of mental whump coming up for him. Poor baby.
