I agree that it was kind of a silly trip: to explore some engergy stuff. Then start the exploration before the simulation finishes and I'm not even sure what they hoped to gain from this exploration. What was strange that usually Young is more cautious than that and it did seem that he had doubts when Scott asked permission to board the alien ship. I am guessing he is a little too eager to cooperate with the scientists.

On the other hand I really liked Young keeping his cool and commanding the ship in battle!! The only problem is that they have not managed to restore the Destiny to a level where they could trust that it can survive a battle (aka the shield would hold, the guns would stay active, and they would still have power to jump). Not to mention that the crew is still "a little" inexperienced in handling the ship. All in all, not very ideal for battle.

The Eli scenes were indeed a little lengthy although I found the one between Rush and Eli a lot more interesting than the Wray-Eli one. I love when they talk in a way that both of them understands the things that are not being said. Plus when Rush was talking about Eli he was also talking about himself. And the pie comment made me crack up really bad.

The VFX people however shone in this episode. Although I always like when Destiny flies through the sun or docks with the seed ship. (Even though I don't consider myself a fan of VFX for the sake of VFX).

"I agree that it was kind of a silly trip: to explore some engergy stuff."

Rush is a scientist first and foremost, with a very curious mind. I think to him it was worth investigating for what knowledge might be gleaned, plus they might have been able to scavenge useful technology, let alone a potential energy source that might enable them to dial Earth.

Curiosity can after all lead to great discoveries, if you don't get killed of course! LOL!
