Oooh, fascinating story. I love the idea of the room, and Rodney not wanting to disconnect from it. And it's especially fascinating (and believable) that John's connection to it was so different.

I felt all hurty when Rodney pulled away from John afterward. The not-so-good sex was very effective. ::sniffles:: Rodney's need to go back into the room was very true to character, and the way that freaked John out was just perfect.

And thank goodness things got better between them. Very cool that they connected with each other in the room. And I liked that Rodney's seizures weren't healed, there was a hopeful note that maybe they would be, but it wasn't all wrapped up in a tidy bow at the end.

Lovely, lovely fic!

So glad you liked it! One of the things that I wanted to explore here was that very difference in thought process, so I'm glad this worked for you.

Poor John--Rodney was pretty oblivious to how he was feeling there. He really was trying to connect to John during the not-so-good sex, but he just get kept feeling too out-of-step.

I'm glad the ending worked for you. The makeup sex was lamardeuse's idea, and I think it definitely makes the resolution more satisfying. I didn't want it to be too neat, because it felt more realistic, and also seemed to suit the challenge more.

very cool, with a lovely ending.

in a sense it reminded me of cesperanza's dolphin fic (except, of course, less crack-like :)) - exploring how only john can seem to reach rodney and persuade him to come back when he has all of the possibilities of Knowledge spread out before him.
