Wonderful story. Loved Rodney finding love with John just as fulfilling.

I'm so glad this worked for you. I could easily see Rodney never returning if it hadn't been for John. Thanks!

This felt so right. Rodney has a very healthy sense of self-preservation, but for the chance to know everything, I think he'd risk it all. And John making Rodney choose between the neural room and him was an excellent and perceptive tactic because while rodney seemed willing to risk himself, he wasn't willing to risk John. And I liked that it wasn't all solved at the end.

I'm happy this worked for you. While dented a bit by the events of Trinity, Rodney's arrogance seems healthy enough that he might not even have seen returning to the room as that huge of a risk. He might have thought he had it under control (which also calls to mind addictive behavior of other sorts).

I'm glad the somewhat ambiguous ending (in terms of Rodney's seizures) felt right, because wrapping everything up would have felt too neat and not suited the challenge nearly as well.

Oh wow. I loved the differences of how John and Rodney experienced the neural room. Figures that Rodney would be all about finding answers to everything and John's about achieving the perfect movements in fighting. I am so glad he's there to ground Rodney.

To have all the answers in your grasp and then not to remember it anymore, and added with the convulsions... ouch. That is really hell for Rodney. Really, that's so sad. But I love the fact that John's there for him, and that there is hope yet for recovery.

Thanks so much for sharing :)

Yeah, poor Rodney. He kind of got wacked in this one, and I intentionally didn't let it end too neatly for him. It seemed to fit the challenge more as well as feeling a bit more realistic overall to leave things ambiguous.

Anyway, I'm so happy you liked this! Thanks!

Hm, so I think that Radek won that bet!

I'm not a fan of McShep (I know, the *gasp*age!), but I liked this story, and loved the concept of the neural room.

Ha, I KNEW I was forgetting something. ;)

But see, Radek's the nice guy; he'd never hold Rodney to it. I'm glad the story (and the concept) worked for you even with a pairing that's not to your taste.
