I enjoyed this. You really got across how frightened and helpless Rodney felt -- I had to resist skipping to the end to make sure everything turned out okay. :)

I'm so glad it worked for you. This story was about breaking Rodney a little bit, but of course he gets put back together in the end. :)

Thanks for the comment!

They continued on in that vein, in whispers to avoid detection and Teyla's wrath, until Dr. Jasthi quietly asked Teyla, "Why do they work together if they hate each other so much?"

"What?" he asked, when she started laughing and couldn't stop. "What's so funny?" he repeated until she shushed him. They continued to bicker through the stargate and into the debriefing, and Dr. Jasthi vowed to never go off world again. Ever, ever, again. *dies laughing* Because yes, that is so them.

*snuggles her boys* Poor Rodney. Never really catches a break, does he? Wonderfuly done. Love it.

I'm glad the humor worked for you, because I feel much more comfortable writing the scary angst.

Excellent. I liked the mysterious start - and Rodney's memory of shooting Sheppard. The rest of the story is a good expansion of that, and I loved the scene where John comes to him in the darkness. Very intense. Very enjoyable read, and the ending - the idea that they won't name what they have - seemed to fit the whole theme very well.

The mysterious start was one of the first things that came to me, faceless voices talking.

Glad you liked it!
