Welp... I spent a SOLID two days in the basement staining cabinets.  I was allowed to emerge today for a Memorial Day picnic.  It was glorious.  It was such a beautiful day... I received word a little over an hour ago that my father has taken a turn for the worse.

I attempted to go to Pittsburgh with my sister and BIL, who had returned home just this evening... but we were forced to turn back due to the weather.  I felt it was better to not risk my mother losing her children, grandson and ( Read more... )

My father was lifeflighted to West Penn hospital in Pittsburgh Saturday morning, after a long night in a local hospital triage, for a severe case of pneumonia. There they discovered he also has the flu and a case of acute respiratory disease... basically a bad respiratory infection that can cause RDS... or respiratory distress syndrome.
