More excitement in the corsetting universe ...

I've been so excited I forgot to post my news first thing this morning after I confirmed with my new Landlords that I will be taking on the little cottage in the woods which will soon become the Sew Curvy/MarmaladeKiss studio!

Not many pics right now because obviously the place is still occupied, but basically it's a 2 up 2 down cottage on an Estate ( Read more... )

Soooo coool! Love it. Congratulations. I'd kill for a studio bigger than my tiny home one but in London it is not an option for me right now :(

Thankyou Gerry. I can only do it if I do workshops, so I am lucky for Sew Curvy. Space was an issue at home because of the shop side of things ..

Sounds fantastic, best of luck with it! I bet you feel like a "real" businessperson now, right? ;)

Regarding what to call it and so on, I think you'd be better off thinking about naming it after your corsetry business. People coming to the store for courses will know who you are and what they're going there for; the ones who need to get the message of who you are and what you do quickly are the opportunist foot traffic who might order a corset. So I'd name it after that, if I were you.

Yes you're right Cathy! It all seems a bit more businessy than working from my spare room. My head is bursting with plans. I'm so glad I've been hoarding sewing machines etc., for a few years - now I've got somewhere to put them all!!

Yes, I think you are right about the naming - thank you :) ... I am going to see if I can find someone to do me a lovely logo for the sign outside and it will be aimed at the opportunistic and the private client ..

Actually, I am just finishing a large email to you in relation to the FR editorial job. I was going to apply before, then this happened, but I would still like to, so it'll be winging its way to you soon. Just doing the final edit ;)

:)

This is so exciting! It looks like a beautiful space in a perfect location. I hope I can come to learn soon, will have to go check if my bank balance will allow it!

Thanks Hannah. It is indeed beautiful x 1000000. Got the lease agreement to sign today which is a relief. Had horrible visions of having to cancel my workshops etc., if someone suddenly changed their mind about renting it to me!! I'll be scheduling courses whenever I like now which is very exciting indeed!
