I drive, a lot, for my job. I've gotten bored listening to radio so I started picking up audio book series from my local library. At first it was great. I listened to the Illiad, A Tale of Two Cities, The Brothers Karamazov, books I've had a hard time reading cover to cover. I never thought I'd see the day but the politics thread has finally bored me to tears. It presents the same interimable arguments day after day after day. Well, it's official. My wife and I have been spoiled by our reading savant daughter. She started reading on her own at three. She had a "Biscuit" book and one afternoon I noticed her reading it aloud to herself. No big deal. I figured she had memorized the book. Go to Worldcon post an entry. Well, I'm still recovering. Too much work to do after being away only three business days. It's insane. I'm already ready for Chicago. Got my membership on Monday morning.

Well, via church and a bailbond company recommended by another friend of mine who does practice criminal law my friend is out of jail. Additionally, that same criminal lawyer is going to represent my friend. The church is raising money to help him defray costs.

I'm hoping the worst is behind him.

I have a friend who suffers from epilepsy. He's medicated and hadn't had a seizure in 4 years. Unfortunately the last time he had a seizure it was while he was driving. There was an accident and he was charged with drunk driving because one of the local police organizations in my area are not particularly bright. The charges were dropped and my ( Read more... )

I finished it this afternoon. Definitely pushed the story forward. I am wondering what's left to accomplish besides the new "Strike on Shayol Ghul". I'm sitting here waiting for Toyota to finish up with my auto service. The "service guy" came by and recommended I get my AC refreshed and have my back breaks worked on.
