Return!

All right, granted, since I didn't have pneumonic plauge, that sick leave break was a little long, wasn't it? More of it was due to my utter inability to finish the next chapter of The Third Day, no matter how I tried to tackle it. I racked up an entire folder of failed, unworkable versions, it's really quite depressing. So, as much as I hate to ( Read more... )

Regarding Jenny... My roomie, who I converted over to a NCIS watcher rather easily, made the best comment about her. He's coming into season 5 after playing catch up on all the seasons within the last month, so everything is fresh. He said, "They finally gave her balls." This is perhaps the first time I've really liked her in an episode. Go writers ( ... )

I've been all over the Tony/McGee bonding/BFF act lately. I was just telling someone the other day how well the show has handled their relationship with how it's gradually changed over the years. I always thought those two were cute when they were together and not at odds, and this season's really been reaffirming that.

And that promo was beautiful and, like you said, I don't actually think it's a dream sequence--there was just some weird lighting going on that made me freak out over it. And the fic explosion looms on the horizon--is it Tuesday yet?

*sob* about the end of The Third Day, but I understand completely. Trying to force a fic that doesn't want to get written is never a good idea.

*cheers* about the onshots, especially "Ten Incomplete Regressions"

re: the most recent episodes... I'm still not liking Jenny much, and I'll admit I'm a little annoyed the Jenny dad/Frog storyline appears to have been completely dropped (I didn't like it, but they wasted a LOT of time on it)... and the promo. WOWSA.

(And it probably won't come up, but Tony's supposed to have quite a bit of scarring on his lungs from the plague, it would make doing CPR for any length of time incredibly difficult)

I completely forgot about the Jenny's dad storyline! You're right, whatever happened to that? I mean, I can live without it, but that's still weird.

And if Tony's health issues don't come up, I will make them come up, and so should everyone else.

Thanks for understanding about The Third Day. I really do hope to get back to it sometime.

It'll annoy me if NCIS doesn't go into it. The plague is how Ducky knew Tony wasn't the corpse in the season opener, and it came up in this episode (Tony being afraid of rats and diseases, etc)... diving into a lake in Nov and then doing CPR would be very hard on Tony's system.

Good luck on the muse

Oh, on the hiatus from The Third Day. I hate to see hiatuses (hiati?), but I understand completely. We can be disappointed at not seeing any chapters, but we can also look forward to the day it works out that you can write more.

But hey, other fics are more than welcome. And being an original writer... well that trumps us fanfic writers any day, cause in the end we are still borrowing others creations.

I'm still trying to convince my roomie to let me read Rictus to him. He has a severe dyslexia problem and never learned to compensate, so he doesn't read. I've been slowly reading the Harry Potter books to him (we're in book 4) and I've been trying to talk him to letting me read some good fanfic. I'm *this* close to succeeding. :-)

I'm not really convinced that original writing trumps fanfic, although I do think it's harder, just because you can't rely on the readers already having certain sympathies and knowing certain things.

I'm a worthy successor to Harry Potter? Awesome! I hope you can talk your roommate into it.

Of course you are worthy. There are many fic writers out there I consider just as good (if not better) than the actual fandom writer(s ( ... )

Tony and McGee were so awesome in the ep with McGee being all calm and and reacting perfectly to Tony's fear. The whole ep was just awesome, I'm loving this season. I was so disappointed last season that I stopped watching but the show really pulled itself together.

Re: fic I'm totally feeling you there, I have this fic I've been trying to write for weeks that just refuses to write itself problem being it was for a fic exchange and was due last week so I really need to get it done, but yes I sympathize.

Tony and McGee have been absolutely adorable lately. I think this season's been the best of all of them so far.

I wish you the best of luck with your writer's block, too--it's a nasty, horrible thing to happen to anyone!

I'm so glad you're not dead, Sequitur.

Yes, this episode was fantastic. I loved Jenny. Even her hair was awesome.

My theory is that last week's episode was supposed to be aired later in the season (there are other reasons for me thinking that; I haven't created a flowchart or anything though) and that would be why Tony left "almost fell seven stories to my death" in his Ways I've Almost Died speech. But I loved his statement "I'm running out of almosts." It's like mortality is finally starting to catch up with him. And I'm sure you can guess I was over the moon with the rat phobia, SWAK-obsessed as I am.

I thought of you after the 3rd time I saw the promo. They have GOT to fix things between Gibbs and Tony now. He DIVES INTO A FREAKING RIVER to save his boss. I can't wait to see what you come up with after this episode, since you write the Tony-Gibbs angst so brilliantly and heart-breakingly.

...I have to just comment here to say I am in complete agreement with you, Celestial. If there is no Tony and Gibbs moment after he dives into said river, I will feel ripped off. And oh some SWAK repercussions would be lovely.

...We can only hope. :P

Kinda nice to see you around mate, on that note. (This being bethellie...because I'm slow and should have mentioned that. :P)

You know, I totally don't think I knew you were bethellie until "Triggers" showed up under your name. And now everything makes sense!
