So the wheels have started turning with both departments I've applied for. I went to San Mateo on Monday, sat in on the dispatch center and generally met with the crew there, as well as had an interview with the head of the dispatch center. It seemed to go well, but something tells me I'd prefer to work at San Bruno. We'll see. Next on the list ( Read more... )

So with regard to the new job possibilities, I'm still going strong with San Bruno, but day before yesterday at work, something new popped up. I'd put in an app for San Mateo around the same time as San Bruno, and all I'd heard back from them previously was a letter stating I was on their hiring list to move on at some point. Well, I ended up going to San Bruno today, and it was great, friendly people, quite a cozy department, cool system. Overall, seems like it'll be a great place to work if I get the job. Although it'll be interesting working with a mostly female staff, but ahh well *shrugs*. The commute also will suck, hopefully I'll get hours where it won't really ( Read more... )

So I went to that interview last Thursday, and other than one question I got a good vibe from it. It wasn't until late Saturday evening that I had that vibe confirmed and totally sent me on a good kick.
