On my way to work I nudged the side of the entrance to the parking lot and when I got out the rear driver side tire was hissing. Air was leaking out the side of the nozzle where the rim meets the rubber. I've nudged curbs before and this has never happened

Edit: I forgot to mention, the price varies with tire store...For example, Costco will only sell you what the car comes with. A quick poke on Tirerack.com shows BFGoodrich tires for your car at about $79/pc.

I suggest you buy your next set of tires from Tires Plus. Say what you want, but if you get a flat for any reason - your fault or not - they will replace the tire for as long as you keep coming back for the price of mounting and labor, which often ends up being $60 or so...
As far as the spare goes... I limped my car around on a spare for about 2 weeks or so, carefully ensuring the pressure was acceptable all the time, and that I never exceeded the suggested 50mph, which made me a real treat on any freeway. So you can probably get away with it for a while, at least.

You should be fine with that spare for at least a couple of days if necessary.
