On my way to work I nudged the side of the entrance to the parking lot and when I got out the rear driver side tire was hissing. Air was leaking out the side of the nozzle where the rim meets the rubber. I've nudged curbs before and this has never happened ( Read more... )

The cheapest they make for this model, 2005 PT Cruiser GT, is literally $183.

What were you pricing them out by? Usually you can just select the size and end up with a number of options. When I was pricing out tires for my mom's 05 Accord, the factory-spec ones (which she ended up getting) were $130/ea but there were other brands were about the same for $80/ea.

Edit: I forgot to mention, the price varies with tire store...For example, Costco will only sell you what the car comes with. A quick poke on Tirerack.com shows BFGoodrich tires for your car at about $79/pc.

As far as I know it only takes specific tires since it's a PT Cruiser GT Turbo. My dad likened them to 'racing tires.' When I replaced the set last year at Tires Plus the guy said the only kind available that would fit my car were the ridiculously expensive pieces of shit I currently have.
