You should totally cosplay something from Homestuck! Rose would be good for you, I think; you could totally keep wearing the components separately even outside of cosplay!
But if you want me to join your costume party, you have another think coming :I There is not a single Homestuck character I'd feel comfortable or look good cosplaying, especially in as public an area as a CONVENTION ):

Dangit, you used the comfort argument and now I think the rules of friendship mean I can't pester you about this anymore! I will just say that in a world full of felt and exiles and agents and suchlike there is someone that ANYONE can look good as, which is probably why I'm still doing Peregrine Mendicant sketches instead of investigating the FAR MORE LOGICAL Rose Lalonde. Shapeless dress! Covered face! Very hard to go wrong with this! *laughs* Anyhow, if you are still uninterested this is absolutely the last time I shall mention it. *hugs* Would you consider coming to a con albeit sans costume? It could be fun! ALL OF THE FUN!
Despite my PM infatuation I am still giving very serious thought to Rose. The being-able-to-use-the-components thing is a powerful argument, especially from a financial perspective. If I make the shirt/skirt separate, particularly. Although I think they would look better as a unified dress? THOUGHTS TO THINK ABOUT.

I know that a bunch of people who cosplay the Exiles buy zentai suits and wear those, and just make the clothing to go on top. And I would like to convention with you! That would be fun.
Cosplaying does look interesting to do, but if I started cosplaying, I'd want my ~~first costume~~ to be a character I'd be surer of getting right. SOMEDAY, GERTRUDE YORKES. SOMEDAY I WILL BE YOU. And Homestuck fandom is so enormous and people get so picky about cosplayers -- bleh, I'd be self-conscious all weekend. ):
