Will you still be in province during the summer term, or will you be going home? I ask because almost every localish convention I've tracked down seems to May-August!
I was looking at zentai suits last night! Actually originally I was looking at opaque white tights and suchlike and then I realised it was dumb to have lots of disparate pieces to get snarled up when you could just do a single suit. My concerns is that they're not that cheap, and that I'm not sure how to do the eyes. Cut it out and fill them in with a mesh? Just colour them on with sharpie and hope the darkening of the material is enough to increase visibility to sufficent levels? I don't know, and I'd be afraid to mess around with the costume's most expensive component like that! RESEARCH. ALL OF THE RESEARCH.
Ahaha, that's hilarious! I saw that you'd replied and JUST before I clicked the link I thought, "hey, you know who Ariella would be kickass cosplaying as? What's-her-name, with the dinosaur, from Runaways..." You absolutly must do that costume some day! Anyhow, I know what you mean wrt the largeness of the fandom. That's part of why I'm increasingly tempted by PM; I've found a TON of Rose cosplays, but only two Peregrine Mendicant ones, and of those two one of them was... well, suffice to say I'm confident I could do it better. So there's less pressure from all these other awesome costumes, and also a decreased likelyhood of running into someone doing a better version of the same character.
SO MANY DESIGN SKETCHES. (ALL OF THE - okay, stopping now.) My desk is going to be covered in the things by the time I'm done!
