Morning was always a glory for Umeko. She always had a special, unbroken morning routine prepared for herself. If her morning plans were unbalanced, then something terrible would happen.
Today just happened to be one of those days.
The first thing Umeko would do after getting up was to take a bath. Baths always relaxed her, and submerging under the warm water and bubbles always felt soothing.
Unfortunately, to her dismay, the bathroom was occupied.
Her morning schedule was ruptured. Umeko had to resist the temptation of breaking down the door, but forced herself into rapping her knuckles gently.
"Who is it?" called a familiar voice, echoing across the spacious room.
The woman recognized that voice from anywhere. The person had to be... much as she enjoyed his company, there was no way that she would let him take her bathtime first. Never. Her eyebrows suddenly squished into a frown as she started pounding the door with the heel of her fist. "TETSU!" she roared furiously.
"Oh, Umeko-san,"replied Tetsu, just as surprised. Before he could say anything else, a long line of rants suddenly spilled from Umeko's lips.
"Tetsu, you unfair creep! I thought you already knew that I'm the first one to use the bath! Me! Always! Every single time!"
Tetsu tried to reason with the short girl. "Umeko-san -- "
"You know how I get first dibs on the bathtub! You even took my new bubble bath! Umeyo, Umenosuke, and Umegoro too!"
"Umeko-san, I think the whole Dekabase can hear you -- "
"I don't care!" Umeko hissed, increasing the pace of her banging on the door. "Hurry up and get out! Do you hear me? GET OUT!"
"Can't you just -- "
"Tetsu, I like you, but if you don't get out, I'm not going to save you from that Alienizer like I did that time!"
At last, there was a sigh. "Fine, fine,"groaned Tetsu. "You know, you're so desperate to take a bath, I bet you would jump in with me if I unlocked the door."
Umeko suddenly stopped, her face growing warm froom his subtle suggestion. After a few seconds, she regained her composure, now clawing at the door in full rage, towel and bath supplies forgotten and discarded on the floor. "TETSU!" she screeched, her voice raising to a high pitch that could be heard from miles away. "I can forgive you for taking the bath first! I can even forgive you for taking Umeyo, Umenosuke, and Umegoro! But I, Kodou Koume, will not forgive you for saying something as sick as that!"
The tokkyou winced at her loud fury. It was obvious that he was going to get it sometime later this day. Umeko never held grudges, but that didn't mean that she would automatically forget about everything that had happened. Even if there was a case, Umeko would remember somehow in the near future. Tetsu had two options -- stay and get pounded by Umeko later, or leave and get pounded by Umeko now.
Either way, he would get pounded by Umeko.
Tetsu decided to think about this later. He still had a bath to take.
Sinking slightly under the bubbles, he patted the trio of rubber ducks, mumbling,"Umeko-san sure gets mad easily, eh?"
Umeyo, Umenosuke, and Umegoro only bobbed over the abundant foam as small ripples passed by them.
"I guess you could call it cute if she wasn't yelling at you."
"TETSUUUU!"
