Thursday Morning -- Selkie Cove

Thursday morning once again found Phoebe back at Selkie Cove. She had gathered quite the nice pile of shells and other things and placed them on the beach. Archie and Veronica had come to see her last night... as had Walter and Pippi and then much later, LanaIt was hot again, today, but she wasn't really feeling too much as she was spending a lot

River returned to the beach where she had met mermaid-Phoebe the night before, and began to walk along the waterfront, hoping to catch sight of her.

She had brought an ice cream container, hoping it wouldn't melt completely before she found Phoebe.

Phoebe was swimming around when she spotted someone walking on the beach. She swam closer and then smiled widely. "River!"

River smiled back and waved. "Hello! I brought you some ice cream," she said.

Phoebe slid uop onto the sand next to River and smiled again. "You did? That's so great."

Lana came down to the water's edge with coffee, chai, and some pastries. She climbed out onto one of the farthest rocks and called for Phoebe.

As promised, Phoebe came up out of the water when she heard Lana calling to her. "Hi there."

"I brought coffee and chai - take your pick." Lana set them out on a relatively flat part of the rock. "Also some pastries from JGOB."

She smiled at Phoebe. "How are you doing?"

Phoebe appeared to be thinking very hard about this and shook her head, finally pointing to a cup. "That one!"

Piper wandered down to Selkie Cove in search of her sister. This time, she would try not to get upset.

"Phoebe!" she called, hoping she would show up.

Phoebe did indeed show up, but this time she didn't come up on the sand. She was staying in the water as much as she could. "Hi Piper."

Piper wasn't happy about Phoebe keeping her distance, but at least she didn't swim away. Yet. "How are you?"

Phoebe ducked her head for a moment, trying to find the words. "I found a lot of stuff on the floor of the ocean. Did you know there's an old shipwreck out there?"

[walter_n_wires]

Walter stopped by after Wilderness Survival, this time armed with his camera.

He was already dying from the heat, so this was going to have to be a brief visit, but he was definitely going to have to take the opportunity to get a picture of a real, live, albeit temporary (hopefully,) mermaid.

"Phoebe?"

Phoebe surged up out of the water and onto one of the rocks. "Hi Walter! Come to swim again?"

"Not today, sorry." Walter smiled at her and held up his camera. "I just wanted to stop by and get your photo."

Phoebe smiled. "Okay."

River reappeared a while later with a jar of blue paint and a brush. She looked out over the water and called: "Phoebe!"

Phoebe heard River calling her and surfaced again. "Welcome back, River!"

"I brought the paint!" River held up the jar and waved the brush. "Where do you want me to paint the dolphin?"

"Great!" Phoebe exclaimed appreciatively. She pinted to the big rock next to the one she usually reclined on. "Would this one work?"
