This particular segment really stuck with me:
But when he studied Snafu’s features and the tension in his shoulders, he noticed that his dangerous edge was polished soft and he showed uncertainty of his own. Eugene got the feeling that he was seeing a glimpse of the stranger that was “Merriell”. <3

Very nice, but very sad! There is a good flow to the conversations between the two of them, including all those awkward pauses and staring contests.

I really liked writing the conversations and all... I guess that's because it's fun to try to convey Snafu's personality into dialogue. ^^
