I'm endlessly amused by this. Just the fact of it because I think it's really cute. Yes, spanking lists are cute, apparently. *g* Spanking itself doesn't do anything for me - as with most kinks, it's how it's written. I like power dynamics in any kink more than the kink itself, usually, so spanking can be really hot when it's got that in it, as it often does. Of course, real power struggle makes me very nervous, so it's a fine line.

Oh, go ahead, laugh at my kinks. ;-) Hee. For the most part I'm with you -- I can do many kinks if they're written well, because it's really about how the characters respond to what's going on. But I must confess, even a poorly written spanking or rimming scene can get me going. *embarrassed*

I've read a lot of stuff like this. Like certain fics by switchknife (who seems to have finally deleted his/her journal? D-:), which have consent issues that make me very uncomfortable. But I can't seem to stop reading.

I must be honest, I'm not a huge fan of stories where Justin is spanked, because 1)Justin never does anything he should be punished for!;) 2) I feel that little scene is pretty much all they ever do of it (same reason why I B/J BDSM stories seem OOC to me). Of course, I've read all those on your list anyway :)

But by all means, bring on the HP fandom, baby, where I'm not so obsessed by issues of canon and ICness. I LOVE Harry spanking that naughty boy Draco. But here you're presenting me with do many other possibilities...I don't know where to start!

Hee! You're welcome. This list ended up longer than I intended, but I kept finding so many good ones! Many, many of them were variations of Snape + Harry + detention = porn, which is a scenario that seems to transfix the fandom. (In my opinion the best of these is the Mockingbird one above, if you're not bothered by chan.)

Of course, Draco gets plenty of punishment too -- I think it's the combo of his brattiness and his pale complexion, which reddens so prettily. *cough*

There were actually two QaF fics I left off the list because upon rereading I was a little uncomfortable with the emotional dynamic -- it was too much like Justin was actually being punished, rather than being spanked because it's fun and it feels good. I'm more about scenes like, you know, Justin teasingly calling Brian old because he knows it will earn him a playful spanking. I feel like they probably did play around with that once in a while, even though we only saw the one little scene...though who knows, I am probably projecting. ;-) But I agree that the more

I actually really like A Wave Unfurled. I thought it one of the best stories of that particular challnenge. Brian reclaims ever single big of Justin and Jusstin reclaims himself.

Wheee, a kindred spirit! I'm sure there's nothing here you haven't read (at least for QaF), but in my opinion these are always worth perving on again rereading.

Personally, I love A Wave Unfurled, but I know many folks don't like seeing Justin as anything but a big huge success in NYC. I like that as well, of course, but I find this fic to be a nice change of pace and just as plausible a scenario.

Exactly. I love Justin being a big fat fucking success, but there is more than one type of success and I think this fic explores that aspect. Justin did lose his way sometimes. I appreciate the fact that this fic explores something a bit more than the standard fare.

I can see him "fail" in NYC, there are plenty of stories that develop that concept. What I don't like is when his "failure" is construed narratively as a punishment for his choice to go to New York.
