Ugh, I really hate when I start reading a long fic that seems pretty good and sucks me in, and then it starts to go downhill, but I'm too involved with the story to stop reading, even if I think I'm going to vomit if the author uses any more italics, and if the story line gets any more sickeningly saccharine. How many times can these (grown male)

And I said a few times a week for eating out, but that's because I'm counting brunch/lunch (we have weekend brunches Saturday and Sunday, most times, and I have a standing lunch date with a friend on Fridays). For evening meals, it's more like once or twice a month.

Ooh, brunch is one of those meals that I never go out for, but I should! So delicious. That's awesome that you do it regularly.

A friend (who later became a trusty beta) sent me a link to a story, and I was all, "Wow! That was excellent. Is there any more?" Heh. I had read some Buffy fanfic before that, having stumbled across it on the internet. I even wrote one fic, but I didn't know anything about online/LJ-centric fandom, and if I had, I would've been wildly intimidated by the size and intensity of BtVS fandom. :-)

I didn't even know there was a Kudos button on AO3! If I knew about it, I'd probably be one of those people who over-used it. I do that with the Like button on Facebook.
Question 3 was kinda random; but yeah, I eat out way too much. I'm sure we could save a lot of money if I'd cook. I just really hate to cook! :-D

Haha, I've been doing this with hockey players! (Although occasionally I wish I hadn't bothered -- play-off beards and missing teeth are Bad Things.)
Glad to introduce you to the kudos button. Some authors love it; some say it's evil. It does make leaving appreciation a hell of a lot easier.
LOL, yes, my polls tend to be a bit random. I had other non-fannish questions I wanted to ask but I couldn't remember them at the time I was posting, so that's why there was just the lone question about food. :-P
Cooking for yourself tends to be much healthier and cheaper, which is why I do it most of the time (I am cheap, yo), but it's so much nicer when someone else makes the meal, no? :-)

Schmoopy fic with crying UGH times a million.
It was so sad-making. I am not necessarily opposed to men crying IF it's rare, the circumstances are convincing, etc. But this was so not that. >:-(

And these two are highly rated hockey-themed stories from the same site:

I believe Kate Sherwood is a reliably good writer, if that means anything. :)
