Thanks so much to rickey_a for the shiny glitterati sunglasses in my profile! *puts them on and attempts to look cool*

For the Star Trek folks out there, I had to share this glee-making TOS macro, which has so far made me laugh out loud five times (ie every single time I've looked at it). I found it via jlh, but I don't know who made it -- so if you do, ( Read more... )

question, thank you, rec me

Well, I generally just stay up too late and read. If I can't, I tab and leave it open. I'm in trouble if the tab closes by accident or my computer crashes--and sometimes, I just close it, and make a note of the URL. When I do that, it's unlikely I'm going back. But I manage to read a lot ( ... )

Ooh, thanks for the recs! I have read (and enjoyed) The Opposite of Expediency multiple times, great pic. Quod Erat Demonstrandum and Trapped are new to me, so I will check them out.

I stay up way too late and read too. /o\

i open tabs. i have like 60 fic tabs open right now. some of them will never get read. but if it's a fic i'm really excited about, i'll get to it. my problem is that i like to try to read almost everything i come across, and i'm not really able to get that done.

eventually i lose tabs in computer crashes or move them to some other form of saving. once they're moved out of the tabs, though, the chances of me ever actually reading go way, way down.

cards_slash has some great Spock/McCoy. Also, there are recs at crackenterprise, many of which I made myself: http://community.livejournal.com/crackenterprise/tag/spock/mccoy

Me too!! It doesn't help that I read in four fandoms, two of which are ginormous (Star Trek and Harry Potter). It would help if I were more picky about ships, but I'll read a huge range of stuff and there's just not enough TIME.

crackenterprise! Why didn't I think of that? I've probably read most of the Spock/McCoy stuff there, but it will be fun to browse again. Thanks!

I have a bookmark folder just for "fics I want to get back to".

Funny ST strip. I love Sulu!

I have a folder in LJ memories that serves the same purpose. I start to get stressed when there's too much stuff in there though! (Which is dumb because it's just fandom, but what are you gonna do.)

Sulu is awesome. :-D

http://kianspo.livejournal.com/28075.html (Spit on a Stone) is a great one. Angsty and hot and very well-written, indeed.

http://cards-slash.livejournal.com/375578.html Cardslash's site holds two excellent series, rather different from one another. "Fuck My Life" is marvelous and angsty - McCoy and Spock having a series of one-night stands that grow into a relationship before they notice. The Hedgehog Love series is by turns adorable and angsty, well-characterized and eventually, a believable threesome.

Ooh, I've read Spit on a Stone, and you're right, great stuff!

I've read some stuff by cards_slash but I can't remember which. Will have to check it out.

Thank you for the recs!

That's what my "toread" delicious tag is for. And when boredom hits or there are no new fics I'm interested in, I go back, yeah. Though usually I am wary of very long fics, so shortere ones have much better chances of being returned to.

Oh, yeah. Me too. I have stuff from December holiday fests that I still haven't read because it's long (and because it's HP -- Star Trek is still my top fandom at the moment, so I always read that stuff first).
