lol'ing at your PSA, but also: YES. SRSLY. It especially annoys me when this happens at fests, although technically I suppose it's easier to hit the LJ 'next' button on a fest post than it is to rifle through someone's journal. Still: make it easy for me to read your fic, people!

Oh, it drives me crazy when it happens at fests! It's not like those fics are being posted as WiP's and the author just forgets to go back and link -- it's a mod who has all the parts right there at hand and should know better than to make it hard for people to read. *shakes fist*

A PSA we can all appreciate regardless of fandom! Finally!

She is often rather mean to poor Jim, but I'm glad she gave him some love this time. *cuddles him*

You will enjoy both of those long fics!

It's not super shippy Kirk/McCoy, as I'm sure you saw, but it was closer than she's ever written before so it filled me with glee. ;-)

You know what's an easy thing to do with problematic layouts? Go up to the URL bar (so, for example, http://community.livejournal.com/space_wrapped/6480.html -- that comm has a terrible color scheme) and add ?style=mine to the end (so: http://community.livejournal.com/space_wrapped/6480.html?style=mine). It will turn any page into your journal default! I use this trick all the time.

ooh, I love the sound of the McCoy/Chekov here, although it must wait for a night when I have more time, I think. Hee. I was just coming over to scroll through your recs when I saw the cut tag on this about Kirk/Spock. hee. Count me amused. I want some Reboot fic, and I've read all the good long K/S out there that I'm aware of (I go in and out of the fandom, so I'm sure there's plenty I've missed), so I thought I'd go for some McCoy gen or friendship fic. Having read a lovely one last night that I'm sure you rec'd at some point. Something by Mijan, I think.

The McCoy/Chekov is wonderful, but yeah, I'd save it for when you have several hours to devote to it. I couldn't seem to stop reading. :-)

Mijan is great! Did you read that really, really long gen-ish one with Kirk, Bones, and Pike? (I definitely recced that one.) Or the short, sweet one about Kirk and Bones meeting on the shuttle?

Hope you found something good to read. ♥

yeah, that long one was the one. I didn't pull it off your rec page - I think I was just putzing about and there it was, so I read it. It was such great emo-porn, though - love! Actually it made me want to read more Pike fic than anything. *g*

Emo-porn, YES!

Pike fic, hmmm. By far my favorite fic with him is the Pike/Kirk/McCoy series syredronning has going...what's it called...ah: The Draws series. The first few installments almost scared me off with the consent issues and BDSM stuff, but once the men started getting emotionally involved I was drawn in but good. I think most of the stories are from Pike's POV.

severinne has written some good Pike/McCoy, though the individual stories are bits and pieces of a longer series. (She seems to be a fairly slow writer too, alas!) But here's the master post if you want to see what's there.

And I'm sure if you're interested in Pike you already know about pike_2009. :-)
