The breathing is important, because she's wearing a corset. In fact, her usual hipster wear was replaced with a wench ensemble, black like her usual ninja gear. So it was sort of a pirate goth wench thing, with knives and a scarf. "Why do you guys think we are here?"
Also, next to her head everyone who hasn't met Knives already is greeted with a textbox. Knives Chau: 17 Years Old. (Likes the corset, but not the rest of her outfit.)

Toph responded to the girl's voice. "Who cares. Can't we just find some land first before fighting?" She had taken a seat on the far end of the ship away from the what sounded like pirates. The motion of the boat wasn't really helping her stomach. The could loot all they wanted, she didn't care, as long as they eventually made it to land without drowning.

Pulling his new headwrap low around his ears, the Agent cast a look over the whole scene. These guys really didn't look like some haggard treasure-hunters in need of the Village People... But it didn't seem that very many of those shown up alongside him cared to play it safe.
"No need to get testy, here." Tucking his thumbs into his cloth belt, he kept a wary eye on the pirates. "Fighting don't gotta be the first option, does it?"

That settles it for Knives, but leaves the question of how to face such a creature... If this was fair it won't try to submerge in the middle of the fight. She'll go with that and so long as the boat is in leap distance she'll be good, right? She sheaths her knives and takes off her scarf, a running leap off the back of the boat toward the dead center of Gui Xian's shell. Maybe she can lasso it or something.
This is how it works in games, if it's big enough, get on it's back, maybe if she lands hard enough it'll turn into a really big koopa shell!

Not that they seemed to have much of a choice.
So he did the only thing he could think to do - following Knives over the edge of the boat, hoping that the thing wouldn't decide to submerge on him before he could land on its back.

The flaming bird streaked overhead, and in all the chaos, it somehow managed to catch his attention in particular. He caught only a hum off of it from this distance, and he needed something more. If he couldn't hear anything, he'd have to get himself moving with his own song.
Stop getting me off track.
I mean it, there's a problem here.
"All right, the others're up close and personal, but we need a way to take down high an' flighty. Any ideas?"

But the other guy had said not to hurt them, and there's something about this giant bird that's...well, not as outright terrifying as he'd usually find it. The bird doesn't look angry; just curious.
After a few very long seconds, Usopp lowers his arm, letting Usopp's strings go slack again, shot unfired, with a quiet reply to the guy next to him]
I don't...know if we need to.
[He looks back up at the bird; a bit louder this time]
What are you?

Toph was completely defenseless at the moment, as there were not rocks or earth on board the ship, and the majority of the metal canon balls were below deck. Because she couldn't tell what was going on, she didn't know if she should stand still, move, or even if she had time to go below and bend some of the canon balls in her favor. Toph ran to the large mast that was in the middle of the ship and held on to it. She couldn't fall overboard, or she'd drown.
Whoever put her hear was going to get it when this was over with.

((There is a possibility that Kitten has a few pebbles in a pouch around her neck. I need to double check with a mod that she still has her nametag etc. on her in some form.))

Wait, a dragon? Wasn't the little animal nuzzling up to the girl a dragon as well. Sora knelt down to the little dragon's level, and noticed a name tag hanging around her neck.
"Hey, um, Skysong, can you talk to the big dragon?" Sora asked, "It might make... whatever it is we're trying to do easier."

[Derek positions himself to dance, attempts to do a few steps... only to be reminded once more that the Music was mute.]
[He gives a grunt of frustration, and his options on his ability to help drops quickly. Next. He looks for the nearest object that can be used to defend himself (like his nightstick would have, even if its usefulness was questionable in this situation) or something to throw at Tigerzilla and get its attention.]
[If anyone knew Derek has been seriously thinking about using himself as a decoy for Tigerzilla if all else failed, they'd probably kill him.]

What would get a tiger's attention? He thought about it as the magical energy danced around his fingers and his chanting shifted. Well here went nothing. From his hands he unleashed a torrent of wind, nothing too strong (he didn't think he could do that right now) but enough to push at the tiger's side. "Hey fuzzball! Over here!"

Ain't suppose anybody got a collar in their pockets? Or a giant ball of yarn?
[He points his staff at the water in front of the tiger and whispers a word. A tiny portion of his gathered will coalesces into wind and shoots straight up through the water, creating a water spout.]
Hope giant floating cats don't like water either.
[OOC: Avie, I talked to Chase, and as the tiger gets close, Derek should be able to hear its Music, if that helps!]
