[Ebenezar sways, tilting forward as the ship rocks on the water, and he braces himself with his staff. He's no longer in old worn denim and flannel, but in equally worn leather and sailcloth, the clothes stiff with old salt. He looks around, squinting up and down at the stars, then at the man wearing the hat]

This ain't Lake Michigan. And ain't no man here got masters, you hear me?

Knives didn't seem to have any trouble standing on the swaying ship. She also pulled both her blades out of their holsters and was ready to dance with every pirate rock star on the deck. She wasn't yet, because she didn't want to start a fight that might get the others killed. She was sure she could take them, ninjas did rule over pirates, and pirates were not in this season. She was calm, collected, and having no trouble breathing.

The breathing is important, because she's wearing a corset. In fact, her usual hipster wear was replaced with a wench ensemble, black like her usual ninja gear. So it was sort of a pirate goth wench thing, with knives and a scarf. "Why do you guys think we are here?"

Also, next to her head everyone who hasn't met Knives already is greeted with a textbox. Knives Chau: 17 Years Old. (Likes the corset, but not the rest of her outfit.)

Toph was not a happy camper. First of all, she was on a wooden ship, in the middle of Avatar-knows-where, and not around anything she could bend. She also realized that she suddenly appeared to be wearing different clothes, but that was a minor inconvenience. (She couldn't tell, but Toph is now sporting a bandanna around her head with a red and white striped shirt and baggy pants made out of canvas. She was still barefoot.)

Toph responded to the girl's voice. "Who cares. Can't we just find some land first before fighting?" She had taken a seat on the far end of the ship away from the what sounded like pirates. The motion of the boat wasn't really helping her stomach. The could loot all they wanted, she didn't care, as long as they eventually made it to land without drowning.

Ships were no big thing for Spin, but he didn't like being on them suddenly, out of nowhere. He figured it was best not to focus on the wide-stretching expanse of water surrounding them and instead on the rather threatening-looking men holding their weapons at the ready. But it was probably just as upsetting for him to realize his outfit had been completely rearranged, his well-pressed suit and tie replaced with a much less refined loose shirt and vest.

Pulling his new headwrap low around his ears, the Agent cast a look over the whole scene. These guys really didn't look like some haggard treasure-hunters in need of the Village People... But it didn't seem that very many of those shown up alongside him cared to play it safe.

"No need to get testy, here." Tucking his thumbs into his cloth belt, he kept a wary eye on the pirates. "Fighting don't gotta be the first option, does it?"

GET UP ON THE TURTLE'S BACK! scarfandknives September 30 2010, 17:40:43 UTC
As Knives faces the aft of the ship, the turtle that she decides might be fun to try and capture. Two letters appear in the backdrop behind the creature, for both Zoro and Axel to see. Vs.

That settles it for Knives, but leaves the question of how to face such a creature... If this was fair it won't try to submerge in the middle of the fight. She'll go with that and so long as the boat is in leap distance she'll be good, right? She sheaths her knives and takes off her scarf, a running leap off the back of the boat toward the dead center of Gui Xian's shell. Maybe she can lasso it or something.

This is how it works in games, if it's big enough, get on it's back, maybe if she lands hard enough it'll turn into a really big koopa shell!

A turtle. He was supposed to fight a giant turtle in the middle of the open sea. Yeah, that would go over well, even if he could use the turtle's back as something to stand on. One wrong move and he'd be dumped into the open sea and that wasn't really high on his list of things to do. Nope, it was just him and a pair of strangers (one of whom could ... make words appear in midair?) against something that outweighed them and was in it's natural territory to boot.

Not that they seemed to have much of a choice.

So he did the only thing he could think to do - following Knives over the edge of the boat, hoping that the thing wouldn't decide to submerge on him before he could land on its back.

Giant monsters? This was so out of his league, there was a reason only high-ranked agents took this sort of thing on, and without a baseball in sight, Spin was pretty uncertain as to how he was supposed to pull this off. If there was going to be any Music to pick up, he could really use it right now.

The flaming bird streaked overhead, and in all the chaos, it somehow managed to catch his attention in particular. He caught only a hum off of it from this distance, and he needed something more. If he couldn't hear anything, he'd have to get himself moving with his own song.

Stop getting me off track.
I mean it, there's a problem here.

"All right, the others're up close and personal, but we need a way to take down high an' flighty. Any ideas?"

[It hadn't taken Usopp long to choose his ammunition and put Kabuto at the ready. A firebird of his own probably wouldn't do any damage, but at least it was big and distracting and maybe they could figure out another way to bring it down-

But the other guy had said not to hurt them, and there's something about this giant bird that's...well, not as outright terrifying as he'd usually find it. The bird doesn't look angry; just curious.

After a few very long seconds, Usopp lowers his arm, letting Usopp's strings go slack again, shot unfired, with a quiet reply to the guy next to him]

I don't...know if we need to.

[He looks back up at the bird; a bit louder this time]

What are you?

Qinglong (The Dragon)- Sora, Kitten, Toph secondcity_npc September 30 2010, 16:59:21 UTC

Toph hears the roar and her sightless eyes become wide in surprise. She feels some people looking up, others towards the back of the ship, and some are over on the side. "What's going on?!"

Toph was completely defenseless at the moment, as there were not rocks or earth on board the ship, and the majority of the metal canon balls were below deck. Because she couldn't tell what was going on, she didn't know if she should stand still, move, or even if she had time to go below and bend some of the canon balls in her favor. Toph ran to the large mast that was in the middle of the ship and held on to it. She couldn't fall overboard, or she'd drown.

Whoever put her hear was going to get it when this was over with.

Having watched the girl carefully, Kitten was fairly certain that Toph couldn't see. Toph's eyes didn't focus on anything of note, and her movements seemed based on something other than sight. The dragon followed the earthbender to the center of the ship and gave a reassuring few whistles, sidling up next to the mast and nuzzling Toph's hand gently by way of introduction and reassurance. It would be useful to be able to mindspeak right about now, and Kitten's eyes narrowed in frustration. She couldn't explain things to Toph, but at least she could look after the girl.

((There is a possibility that Kitten has a few pebbles in a pouch around her neck. I need to double check with a mod that she still has her nametag etc. on her in some form.))

"There's a dragon coming this way," Sora said to the girl.

Wait, a dragon? Wasn't the little animal nuzzling up to the girl a dragon as well. Sora knelt down to the little dragon's level, and noticed a name tag hanging around her neck.

"Hey, um, Skysong, can you talk to the big dragon?" Sora asked, "It might make... whatever it is we're trying to do easier."

[So much for negotiations and that plan. The circumstances changes fast, and Meowzilla's older brother along with his three friends are coming right at them. Derek hears the man shouting for them to capture them as the feline's roar finishes echoing in his ears. Is he familiar with Tigerzilla and co?]

[Derek positions himself to dance, attempts to do a few steps... only to be reminded once more that the Music was mute.]

[He gives a grunt of frustration, and his options on his ability to help drops quickly. Next. He looks for the nearest object that can be used to defend himself (like his nightstick would have, even if its usefulness was questionable in this situation) or something to throw at Tigerzilla and get its attention.]

[If anyone knew Derek has been seriously thinking about using himself as a decoy for Tigerzilla if all else failed, they'd probably kill him.]

The four beasts. Billy wondered if these 'masters' were trying to leave places of importance vulnerable. The Tiger was the one he could deal with. He moved quickly in that direction channeling his magical power and started to chant. The low tones were methodical and as his hands glow blue. The power felt less than it should. Far less but he wasn't complaining. Okay so he was.

What would get a tiger's attention? He thought about it as the magical energy danced around his fingers and his chanting shifted. Well here went nothing. From his hands he unleashed a torrent of wind, nothing too strong (he didn't think he could do that right now) but enough to push at the tiger's side. "Hey fuzzball! Over here!"

[Ebenezar curses under his breath and takes up position next to the two young men, running through his options as the deck beneath his feet rocked at the white tiger's approach]

Ain't suppose anybody got a collar in their pockets? Or a giant ball of yarn?

[He points his staff at the water in front of the tiger and whispers a word. A tiny portion of his gathered will coalesces into wind and shoots straight up through the water, creating a water spout.]

Hope giant floating cats don't like water either.

[OOC: Avie, I talked to Chase, and as the tiger gets close, Derek should be able to hear its Music, if that helps!]
